This model scanner doesn't have any built-in way to connect to a network. You need to connect it to one of the wired ports on your router with a USB print server like this. The server provides the link between the scanner and your network so that it can be used by any connected computer.

How do you clean the underside of hp5590 glass?

Detach the ADF assembly. Remove the 4 case screws from the scanner bottom. The case has a notch at the back that has to be unclipped to separate the top and bottom. Clean the glass underside repeatedly, I use methylated spirits on soft toilet roll. Check in the glare of the scanner light, and reassemble.

I download hp 5590 drivers from hp.com i tried to install it, the proces eend normaly, but if i connect the scanner, windows xp show the new hp connect like its not installed yet. I check at add remove...

REMOVE ALL CABLES OF PRINTER (USB)
REBOOT YOUR SYSTEM
HAVE DRIVER CD
PUT IT IN ROM(CD/DVD)
INSTALL PRINTER SOFTWARE
DONOT PLUG THE USB CABLE UNLESS & UNTILL PROMPTED
PLUG USB WHEN ASKED
FINISH INSTALLING PRINTER
NOW YOU CAN FIND THE SCANNER
