Error E 06 comes up on our smeg washer/dryer and the water hasn't drained out properly. Why won't it drain? We have tried to put another cycle on but the same error code appears before the cycle finishes. We have checked the pipe and it doesn't look blocked. What does the error E06 mean?

Underneath the washer you will see a pump, pull the hoses off and check it for dirt and clogs. I actually came across one with a sock clogging it.

SOURCE: my smeg washing machine stopped half way threw

It is a code for draining problem. Pop the filter cap at the bottom front of the machine then drain the water through the emergency drain hose into a shallow pan or basin. If emergency drain hose is not present, place the pan or basin in such a way that it catches the water when the filter is removed. Remove the filter by turning it counterclockwise and clear it from any debris that might be blocking the water from draining out properly.

Once the filter is cleared, screw it back into place and plug the emergency drain hose then stuck it in and reinstall the filter cap.

Fill the machine with water then manually drain it by pulling the end of the drain hose and placing it into the basin. In this manner, you will now if the drain hose is clogged or not. Make sure the drain hose is not clogged or kinked and water flows properly down the drain hose.

You can tell that the drain pump is not working and needs to be replaced if the filter is clear, the drain hose is not clogged/kinked and water is flowing perfectly during the manual draining.

SOURCE: WDI12C Machine Will Not Drain - Error Code E06

This is a useless machine. I had it and after about 14 months, in quick succession, the pump broke and then the timer broke. A friend with the same machine had the same experience. AVOID!

HEre's a link to Smeg's web site with all the error codes:
http://www.smeg-service.co.uk/support/index.php?a=1#1

The only problem is that the code doesn't really tell you a lot though apart from it's probably not draining properly. Does any one have any ideas for E06?

Hi, I have an LG 1412RD washer dryer. I received the DE error message so opened the front to access the door lock and plugged in the electric socket which seemed loose. Now I am getting the OE message...

Owners manual above. LG washing machine error code – OEThe LG error code OE simply means “the pump is blocked”. Presumably the water isn’t being emptied properly. As with all error codes it is possible that there is a cause other than the exact description in the error code explanation but basically this error means as far as the washing machine is concerned it thinks the water isn’t pumping out. A pump, or filter blockage is the most common cause but it could be caused by other faults such as a faulty pump, or even a blockage in the drain hose or somewhere else in the system etc.
