You do not replace the Imaging Unit as a whole on this model. The Imaging Unit is made of of 2 parts. The Drum Unit and Developer Unit. If your "replace imaging unit" indicator is on then typically what happens is your local Konica Minolta or Independant service shop would come out and replace the Developer (aka Starter) in your developer unit and replace the drum unit part of your imaging unit. This must be done in sequence with resetting the counters in the service mode. If not done properly the counters will not reset or the new developer will fail to calibrate properly so copy quality will be poor or you will end up with a COF32 code. That being said, all I can tell you is that a fair price to perform this scheduled maintenance on the 162 is about $350.00. This will vary depending on local labor rates and how much the dealer marks up their parts. My current cost on the drum unit and developer is about $100 so you can use that as a general guideline in case some dealer tries to rip you off.
Good Luck and Thank You for using Fixya.
