I was able to download designs to my computer using a flash drive the first time. I attempted to download again for the second time using the same flash drive. I plugged in the flash drive, pressed the hotsinc button (3rd botton, bottom row), then pressed secure I. The screen then looks like this... /SECURE (little pocket) P1/P1 My designs are not loading and I don't know what I'm doing wrong! Can someone help!?

.Jef and .Dst will work on a Janome machine. You can buy designs per the hoop sizes for your machine. Buy, download, and transfer received file to a USB drive to transfer deign to machine.

Confirm you have designs on your flash drive... via computer.
Then if you do, try reloading onto another "Good Quality" name brand flash drive, and try again to see if the machine will read it.
Sometimes it is not the machine, it is the drive
If that didn't work, Then, you can try this - hold the button that turns off your machine, once off, un plug the machine. then hold that button again for 60 seconds. plug it back in, turn it on, and retry.
If still nothing, take it into your local Sewing Machine Center Service Dept. To complex to assist online.
All you need to know when you purchase designs from the internet is that your Brother PE770 will only recognize DST and PES formatting. There isn't anything else!
I have a Designer I USB that suddenly started not reading the usb stick that came with the machine. I was terrified that my machine was going bad, but I always start with the cheapest solution first. I bought a new usb stick, loaded the designs from the old one into my software then loaded everything on the new usb stick. My machine reads it every time so far. I replaced the usb stick about 3 months ago and have not had another problem since. I don't know if this is your problem, but usb sticks can go bad and since they are so cheap, I would try this first.
If the designs are already on a formatted* flash drive and in the format of the embroidery machine and the embroidery machine has an USB Port-A receptacle, you just plug it into the machine.
Create a folder on the PC's hard drive and name it Embroidery Downloads and copy or send from the flash drive you now have. Keep the flash drive as a backup.
After you format the new flash drive, you can then copy as needed from the Embroidery Downloads folder. Just do a couple.
I think the problem may be with the folder structure on your flash drive!
You need to start by creating a new folder called EmbF5, and put your designs in that, in another folder which should be called MyDesign. You can have other folders within EmbF5 - all the folder names must have 8 letters or less, but the design names can be longer. The machine uses jef format designs.
There are several Yahoo Groups for users of the Janome embroidery machines, many of the folks on them are very knowledgeable and will help with problems.
Firstly, format your compact flash card on your embroidery machine. This is presuming you have embroidery files in your jef format your machine reads on your computer. Place your compact flash in the compact flash card reader writer connected to your computer, open the compact flash card in your computer, open the file emb5. Now you can simply copy and paste a design from your computer to your flash card. It works for me. Goodluck.
