I have a FR966 Emerson 12-bottle wine cooler. The controls started beeping last night, and all controls seem to be confused. I unplugged for a while, but that didn't work. Can I replace that control panel and, if so,where do I find the part? Or should I just buy a new cooler? Thanks.

Mine is doing the same thing at this moment. I have tried unplugging it and resetting the breaker, neither of which worked.

Have you looked at the back of the board for burn outs?

Beeping usually indicates that something has gone wrong. Probably not cooling properly. The water coming out would indicate that the unit has defrosted. Turn the unit back on again and see if the red side is cooling properly. Some wine fridges have independent evaporators which allows different cooling temps in different parts of the cabinet.

There is such a wide variety, and it really depends on how much space you have and how many bottles you keep on hand. I will send you a few great links, but I urge you to do some extra browsing of your own.

Koldfront makes a great dual zone cooler. I found you one that holds 18 bottles with space for 6 bottles of white wine and 12 bottles of red.

Hi and welcome to FixYa. I am Kelly.

This is a 6 or 8 bottle free-standing wine cooler from what I can tell.

I am not having much luck determining if this is a manual defrost type unit or not. Given the inital sales price now of $79.95 I have to assume it is a manual defrost type.

There are a few things that can cause your problem.

1. PTC relay and KliXon thermal overload assy on the compressor.

2. Run capacitor

3. Temp control

You said the fan does not run so I cab not rule out the temp control.

I can not even find a parts break down of the unit.

With no fan running the very first suspect is the temp control but you can at least listen for a CLICK when you cycle it from off to any other position. If you hear a click I would start looking at compressor start / run parts.

If you have access to your units compressor note the manufacturer, hp if stated (1/8hp etc) and Model number.

Then call or visit your local appliance parts supply store with that information in hand. The will have a PTC relay / KilXon thermal overload AND run capacitor that will fit your unit. I am pretty sure that will get you going again UNLESS you have a broken wire somewhere.

The replacement parts are going to run about 50% of the cost to replace the whole thing.

Hi, could be faulty thermostat, can you check compressor, is compressor running (working), listen to compressor for clicking sound, unplug it(switched off) for about 20 minutes, replug and let it run (work) for another 20 mins. see if temp. drops, what about temp. inside bottle (wine) cooler, is it 98 or colder, more info. could be valuable. check thermostat, check to see if compressor operates, if cooler temp. 98. remove you products, to another cooler, call mechanic.

but your problem with an undescribed brand and model will not likely ever get a response. 
I think your question is in regards to a microwave oven. Try reposting it with the correct brand and model #.
