Error code E11 is a dryer thermostat problem. The wiring, by design, is too short, and secured too tightly up and behind the digital display, and extends to a connector located on the machine's drum housing. When the machine is in motion, and there is a degree of drum movement back and forth, left to right, the wire disconnects resulting in Error code E11. Your issue may be that the wire is loose, and not fully disconnected (yet) hence the fault being intermittent. Error code E11 requires a service engineer to reattach the thermostat wiring in a way that allows for the drum housing to move, as per it's design, without the wire being disconnected from the drum housing connector, when the wash load becomes unbalanced during the wash cycle.

Thanks for the info. I had this problem with my machine and my husband reattached the wire, which had clearly disconnected from the housing. He does have a degree in electrical engineering, but it was a pretty straight forward job with no call out fee and the machine has worked perfectly since.

here the picture of the disconnected cable

Great Post!! Thanks a lot. That was the cause for E11 on my machine too. Fixed it in less than an hour. Its worth to mention that the top cover can be shifted away after removing the three screws on the top rear side.

As above, removed the 3 small bolts at the back under the lip and slid out the top panel. Removed the spade terminal that was broken and using some pliers managed to reattach to the terminal and refasten. BTW the cable did not need lengthening in mine.

I had the same problem but the wiring was completely cut off from the housing, it was impossible to repair it. The machine needed the wiring to be replaced

SOURCE: Hoover washer/dryer VHW854D SHOWS ERROR

I have exactly the same problem. Hoover Service Centre told me to tip a bucket of warm water into the drum and leave for 5 minutes before switching it back on. The idea is that the machine may be affected by the cold weather. Needless to say it made no difference and Error 11 remains - I am expecting an engineer on Thursday 23 I'll keep you posted on the outcome.

What is error code F11 ?

An E11 error code indicated there's an open circuit on the dryer heater or a module issue it's a good idea to check the wiring from the sensor on the top the drum to the circuit board as this can become damaged during the spin cycle.

I installed a new control panel in my Frigidaire dryer and it displays E11. Is there anything I can do to clear this code?

Hi Steve, thank you for your question!

Generally, error code E11 means that it has detected an internal checksum error or processor error. First check to see if it is a false error code by resetting the power to your dryer by either unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker for about 30 seconds. If the error code persists, your dryer may have a faulty main control board. Regrettably, this is not a simple DIY job. It is always a good idea to get the appropriate diagnosis prior to making any unnecessary part replacements.

Best of luck!

Display reads E11

E11 error code means that the dryer thermostat is faulty.

Apparently it overheats if you use it too much or the motor of the fan (blowing hot air in the tumble) got stuck.

Check it and keep us updated.

I have a Hoover vhd sensor Dry Washer Dryer and its come up with error E11. Can you help ?

Hi I had the same problem about once a week and every time it happened I had to turn off the washer off and leave for a while and start new wash cycle. It worked for a while but eventually it started to throw E11 once I put it on (not the middle of cycle it used to do). I had to result to call the repair man. He checked all the hardware and nothing was wrong and re-install the program on the board and it stopped throwing errors. After 4 month of problem free period, it gave me E11 again today though..

My hoover washer dryer VHD is showing a fault E11 and the washing in the machine is still wet

It means there is a problem with the dryer board on it.You can try removing
the lid and just check the dryer control board on it.Make sure the
connections are ok and that none of the wires are broken. Then if the wires are ok the dryer control board will need to be replaced.
