Tell him to first fill ref-regent gas in compressor cause if does not have enough the comp will over heat a cut of .
That makes sense, except --shouldn't the overheat relay kick back on once the compressor cools down? Mine stays off for days/ weeks. If I open and close the door it'll run for a few seconds, or jiggle it. (No door switch on this model.) Ice maker arms are in correct 12 o'clock position. Cheapest trial and error fix is the thermostat I suppose - otherwise maybe a contact in the icemaker mechanism is not showing the arms have rotated back to 12 and "ready to start again" maybe. Need the technician to troubleshoot - but it had been turned off at the switch for several months and worked great when we turned it on while he was here. Only to all melt / shut down 2 weeks later. And since. Sheesh.

I have much the same issue. In your case I doubt a 1 1/2 year old ULIne has a compressor issue. If it has a door switch make sure that isn't the culprit! My unit does not have a door switch and is about 10 years old. It freezes and makes ice great for about two weeks then it will shut off completely, all the ice will melt. It stays off and won't run until I turn the switch off for a while, then it may work again for a while. The repair expert that came out to look at it was completely nonplussed since it was working perfectly while he was there (of course). He now thinks it's the thermostat ( not instructing the unit to kick back on ) and is going to replace that, we'll see...
hopefully he fixed it by know
Update - The temperature control switch on Uline ice makers temporarily shuts off the compressor when ice is being dumped and the tray refilling. Costs about $39 and is made with cheap contacts inside that easily carbon up, causing the ice maker to intermittently stop running, so it makes ice then the ice melts. Replaced that, Solved my issue of intermittent shut off.

SOURCE: Compressor will not run
mostly the relay called a PTC relay. If you have a ohm meter you can ohm out the compressor just to make sure but pretty sure the relay. ken
SOURCE: GE Monogram Ice Maker ZDI15 makes an ice sheet but does not drop or melt the sheet into cubes.
Below is a couple og links. One is for the user manual and the other is for parts should. Sounds to me the cutting grid is not getting hot and cutting the ice into cubes. PDF below, click link

For parts or free answers go to this link and enter your model number into the search feature. Model ZD115C That will take you to a page with pictures and part numbers. The home page you may call or email for answeres. I did see a control board and for some reason the cutter is not heating this will cause the problem. Thanks, Sea Breeze

SOURCE: Ice maker (Uline) just stopped working, not freezing, no noise.
U-line does make compressors as long as its not a r12 system. As far as the icemachine turn breaker off for a couple of min then try it. If same results then it could be a board.
SOURCE: Our freezer is not cold, food is defrosting, ice
Look at the back of the freezer wall from inside the freezer. Is there frost on it? If there is, you need to replace one of the components of the defrost system. If there is no frost then you need to have a repair made to the sealed system, it is either out of gas or the compressor is running inefficiently
