I have a LG gas dryer, DLG2526, that runs but doesn't heat.

Take the top off and start the dryer, if igniter is working you can clearly see the orange glow from it as it ignites the gas. The process starts many seconds after you push start. The gas heating cycles off and on so the igniter needs to work many times thru a cycle of drying.

Admiral Dryer Model #AGD4475TQ No Heat

This is very rare on a gas dryer but I have seen it. If you have already replaced all that other stuff I would say it has to be inside the timer. On one I worked on once I could remove that orange wire and the dryer would function ok so I ordered a new timer, they sent me a bad timer. Same problem. I finally got a working timer after going through a bunch of mess. That fixed it. So if all the other components are working it very well could be the timer.

What to do when dryer runs but does not heat up

Things that could stop a gas dryer from heating:
- glow bar igniter, thermal fuse , coils on the gas valve, gas valve, thermostats, motor heat switch, timer, selector switch, sensor.
Problem -
Gas flame comes on first few times then quits and igniter keeps cycling on and off but never lets the gas go.
Answer ( most common ) -
Replace the coils on the Gas Valve.

Problem -
No flame, no igniter glowing at all,
Answer ( most common ) -
Inspect igniter for small burnt spot on dark gray or black part of igniter or check for 110 volts to igniter when dryer should be calling for heat.

Thanks. Keep updated for any more query. You can rate this solution and show your appreciation.

Gas Dryer. Heat for only one burn cycle.

Try vacuuming out the intake and exhaust of the burner to remove any lint or other debris. If no help, the main burner may need to be replaced.

Dryer starts with heat. After 10-15 minutes, when dryer calls for more heat, here a metal clicking noise, flame does not ignite. When it's clicking, I can look down the back from the top and see a glow....

Your gas valve coils are defective. Part #694539 and 694540 are required. Once the coils get hot they collapse internally and the gas valve shuts off. This is a common problem when valve coils get weak from use.

Ignitor won't ignite after working for 2-5 min

Your fuel supply is OK?

If the igniter comes on and you have fuel, there is no problem ... for some reason you dont have fuel, seems to me.

Did you check the gas valve(s). There nay be several.

If you have gas and the valves are on ... you have an electric (gas relay valve) problem.

Maytag Gas Dryer doesn't heat up

The igniter is the part that ignites the gas in the Maytag gas dryer. Long time a go the dryers use to have a pilots. The pilots where on all the time, even when the dryer was not been use.

This wasted a lot of gas and a new design was needed. That is when the igniter or glow bar as is also known, came to be. A bad igniter could be the reason for your Maytag gas dryer not heating.

The radiant sensor is a small black box that attaches to the combustion funnel. The job of the radiant sensor is to allow the igniter to glow until it is real hot, then it shuts the igniter off and opens the gas valve to start the heating process. A bad radiant sensor could the the reason for your Maytag gas dryer not heating.

The gas valve has two coils or solenoids. These coils job is to open the gas chambers inside of the gas valve.

When one of the coils goes bad, the symptom is that the igniter glows, but the gas valve won't open to let the gas flow through the gas chamber to be ignited.

A bad set of coils could be the reason for your Maytag gas dryer not heating.

The hi-limit thermostat is located on top of the combustion funnel, and its job is to open the circuit to the gas valve if the airflow to the dryer is restricted for any reason.

The cycling thermostat is use to control the temperature inside of the dryer. It is factory preset at 155 degree, in other words it will open the circuit to the gas valve when the temperature reaches 155 degrees.

This thermostat is opening and closing all the time the dryer running. A bad cycling thermostat could be the reason for your Maytag gas dryer not heating.

The timer is the part that direct the electricity to the other parts in the dryer. This part works very hard and the contacts wear out and some times they burn out. If the timer contacts won't close, the dryer will not heat.

The motor switch is another safety device that only closes the heating circuit when the motor is running. When the motor is not running the circuit of the gas valve is open and the dryer will not heat. A bad motor switch could be the cause for your Maytag gas dryer not heating.

As you could see, there are a lot of parts inside of the dryer that have to be in good working condition for the dryer to produce heat.
