You have to programme the correct code for your TV into the Sky remote.

You can get these via "Sky Active" (if your box is connected to a phone line) or from the Sky website, or google search: "Sky remote codes".

However your sky remote wont necessarily control more recent televisions unless you have a REV8 remote control. You can check this by taking the battery cover off your remote and looking at the sticker inside. If it says RC1600/00 you're probably not going to be able to control your TV. REV4 and REV6 are more likely to work - but not guaranteed. If it says REV8, then you are probably not using the correct code or you're not programming the remote correctly.

If you have REV8, the correct code for your TV (according to Sky) is: 0678 or 1678 or 0254

Sky remote code finder page is here: http://sky.uebv.com/

A few years ago Panasonic started having several of their Flat screen TVs by a Turkish company and put their Panasonic logo on them .
I found that it was hard to get the Sky Remote o tag to it although both Sky and Panasonic gave me a code .
Ended up returning the Panasonic branded TV .

We have loads of codes for sky remote control. Do you know which code will enable us to switch the tv off and do the sound control. At present we have to use two controls. TV remote to switch on and...

OK,

This really depends on which brand/model of TV you have and which Sky remote version. The code you need is specific to the brand/model of TV.

The Sky remote version is printed on a sticker inside the battery compartment. The older Sky remotes will have "RC1600/00" on the sticker. Newer versions will also have either "Rev 4", "Rev 6", or "Rev 8" on the sticker.

If you have a new TV and an older Sky remote (i.e. before Rev 8) your remote may not work with your TV and you will need to buy a new Sky remote if you want to operate TV and Sky box with one remote.

Please post back with your Sky remote version number and your TV brand and EXACT model number. I will then be able to provide codes for your remote and programming instructions.

Thanks.

Check the speaker/s of the TV. If found OK; check and replace the damaged component/s at its audio output section circuit board. If needy, replace this board as card basis. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts. Search the site by type in the "brand name" to your device; in the "Search box at the top right of the display window of the Homepage" to get gathered related posts. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/

Cant get sky code so sky remote wont turn sound down

Hello Heidi, you will need the brand and model number for your TV when you click in to sky.com. after you do you might have to sign in or register if you haven't done so. Then click on watching sky, then remote control help, this will take you to the find your code, this is where you'll need the model and make for your TV.

Hi i have a krf-v5030d and i am having trouble woking out how to connect it to my panasonic 37'' plasma th37px70b and my sky plus box can you help me please .thanks john

Hi John,

I have the same amplifier, a Sky + HD box, an LCD TV an surround speakers. We wont go into the Wii, PS3 and PC also hooked up. Essentially the best way to go (whatever you connect up) is to split the video and audio signals.

Sky: The Sky box has an audio outputs (left and right channel) found at the back of the box. You get some twin audio cables, plug into the back of the Sky box and the other end into the Kenwood Amp (for example we use Video 1). This means that the sound from Sky can be found on Video 1 on the Amp.

You take the video signal (picture) from Sky using a SCART cable and put into the back of your panasonic TV. This does mean that you can watch a picture without the sound and listen without a picture. The Amp remote controls the sound, the Sky / TV remote controls the picture.

You may need to tinker with some settings on the Amp, for example on the front of the Amp you will find a source button, toggle through the 3 or 4 options to give you the right sound. But essentially that should be it. The same process is used for any other things you want to add, like a DVD player, a games console and so on.

Hope this helps.

Regards, Mohammed
