You will need to pay close attention to how many beeps & if their short or long. Asus uses the Award BIOS. Beeps are a part of POST. Power On Self Test. Open the link below to find out what your beeps mean.

Try reseating the LCD cable to the video card. If no change, then you will most likely need a replacement LCD (Roughly $150 on EBay)

SOURCE: HP Pavillion dv6700 - black screen

Do the following without the battery inserted.

Let the computer sit with no battery for 24 hours. Do not put the battery in at all. Try using your original memory stick ONLY, with no hard drive and see if it will POST. If it does, insert the hard drive and try again. Could be the new memory...

Another thing you can try is reseating the processor. Turn the ZIF screw, take the processor out (WATCH THE PINS!!) and put back in GENTLY. Leave the memory in the computer, hard drive removed, try to power on.

These models have been known for bad motherboards. Contact HP and arrange to send it in. If you do enough digging on HPs website, you'll find the service advisory.

Start saving for a new laptop, that chequered effect is the sign of video corruption caused by a failed video chip. Replacing it is out of the question since a replacement part would cost more than the laptop is worth (unless you can find a sh one).

  • Hi, you need to make cahnges / adjusment to the "Resolution" on the Monitor. First, (right / alt ) click on an empty area of your "Desktop Screen," next click Personalize from the [short-cut menu], once the window open. Select the "Display Settings in the {Personalize appearance and sound} listings, from here you can adjust the resolution of the screen. You can adjust the "brightness" by doing the following: On the resolution scale adjust from Low>High; you can do this until you are satisfied with the view. In the (Colors) drop box, click the down [Arrow], and choose the "Highest" color (16bits>32bits...) Open the {Advanced} settings, click on the "List All Modes" button, once the window open choose the (Highest) settings, example: [1366 by 768, True Color (32bit), 60 Hertz]. "You can go back and repeat these steps until you are satisfied with the results. *Note: "Always, restart the Computer, after making any changes to the System." "I would really like to know how things worked out for you. Rating the solution is the best way, if you find the time. Thanks for using Fix' Ya"

I have dell optiplex 755. Does my system support ati radeon 3650?. Also recommend me any else card which is suitable for my computer

what model is this small form factor ? mini tower?anyhow, here are the things that you may consider .
if its a small form factor unit then you may need to get a video card that is Low Profile
and also consider the power supply :
The ATI Radeon HD 4650 512MB Low Profile PCIe x16 graphics card should work fine with the 275w PSU.
Max power draw is 48 watts

My DG41TX works perfectly with dual core processors, but with core 2 duo not, do 3 beeps and dont show any video, what i must do?? my core 2 duo is E8400 my dual core is E2180 Bios Version:...

The POST beep code - 3 short beeps mean RAM failure.
Try reseating the RAM modules.
If this does not solve your problem then remove all the RAM modules and insert one RAM module at a time into memory slot 0 (1st memory slot) to determine which is the faulty RAM module.
