One possibility is that your charger is broken. This is likely the case as your charger light is not turning on. You can test to see if this is the case by using another charger. If the other charger is not working you have an internal hardware problem and will need to contact Nintendo for repairs.
The charger could be bad and also the charging socket in the DS may have a loose wire. The DS came with a limited time warranty so see if on the nintendo website if they can help you with getting it repaired.
Hi
Tamsin
Try taking the battery out of the back using a small philips screwdriver and wiping it it worked on mine
If this does'nt work it might be a new battery.
hope this helps

Can you borrow a friend's charger to see if that charges your DS instead? If so, you know you need to buy a new charger. If not, you know that your DS charging circuit is not working.
You might be able to buy an inexpensive USB-to-DS charging cable and charge it from your computer.
Most likely if you have a touch screen cover, it is not on tight enough, or has been somehow damaged, probably by a tap with way too much force. If this solution doesn't work, message and me and I will see what I can do.
There are a couple of fuses inside the ds and one of them is right up next to where the charger plugs in try to replace it. It is a little flat black piece with solder on each end and it should have a number on it you with need to replace it with the same number fuse.
