I have an Amana side by side purchased almost 10 years ago. Yesterday it stopped cooling and freezing. Everything defrosted. Refrigerator is getting power. Lights are on. But it won't cool or freeze food. We vacuumed the back and removed the vent which had a lot of soot. We left it exposed without the vented panel all last night and it still won't cool. Any advise?

There is n such reset button,but first check and confirm that water line is running in to the ice maker drawer.Is the water getting into icemaker or not.

Could be that your self defrost mechanism is not working and unit is freezing up and not cooling. Till fixed just defrost overnight and turn on next day. It will run fine for a few days till it freezes up again.

Probably need to replace open heater element. Go to sears web site for part number and then purchase it for less money on ebay.

I had the same issue. It was the relay overload which essentially provides the extra boost to get the compressor going. The switch tries for about 10 seconds before giving up and then retries 3 - 4 minutes later. In the early stages of failure, eventually it will work and the compressor will kick on. But eventually the switch will fail and will just cycle through the 10 second attempt every 3 to 4 minutes. The part is about $35 - part number 67005560.

We had the same thing happened. We called Sears and scheduled a repair. Apparently there is a small electric heater that keeps the coils from freezing up and had to be replaced, about $80, I think. Not sure if that is your problem.
