How do I enter a fraction on my TI-84 Caclulator and get a fraction as an answer? If I hit (Math) then (1:Frac) and put in a fraction and hit enter it tells me error. What am I doing wrong???

To Enter a basic fraction just enter the first number, then a division sign, then the second number. So two thirds would look like "2/3" (Without quotes). For more complicated fractions you may need to put parentheses for the left and/or right of the division sign like in the fraction (5+2^4)/(2-8). To get the calculator to show it as a fraction you would enter the fraction, then press (Math) then (1:Frac). So the input on your screen should look something like this "2/3>>Frac" (Without Quotes, and >> being a filled triangle pointing at the word Frac). From your post it sounds like you were putting the fraction last when it should have gone first.

Fractions

You just use the division button and it helps if you put the fraction in parenthese. So if you were trying to put in 1/4 you would enter 1 then the division button then 4. Voila!
