Parts of the calc never turns on in the screen..

Whenever I turn on my TI-83 there are some parts in the screen that wont turn on. For example, if I put in 4+4, the answer comes out in the right side as 4. But there is a vertical line that blanks out that line. So the middle of the 4 is missing and there is a horizontal line so I can't even tell what that number is. Can someone help me?

I've had the same problem with both my old TI-85 and TI-89. Could someone please help with this? Is there a way to fix it?

Several vertical lines of pixels never turn on for me. Sometimes, when I keep the screen on for an extended period of time, some of the lines come back, but this is not an adequate solution.

How to solve trig functions using ti-83 plus

Your best bet would be trying a math package on ti-calc.org - you can usually find something that does what you want there. You'll need a cable and the software to download these programs to your calculator. Here's a link to the trig section:

My ti-89 screen is frozen and wont accept input

Remove the batteries and wait a minute or two. Put them back in and turn the calc back on and it should function normally. Check for stuck buttons as well, as sometimes they will cause the calc to appear "frozen".

Entire battery replace but still wont turn on

TI calculators have an annoying habit of dimming the screen when the batteries are changed so that it appears as if the calculator isn't turning on. Turn the calculator on (or at least press the ON key). Press and release the 2ND key. Press and hold the Up-arrow key for a few seconds and see whether the screen becomes legible.

TI 83 Plus won't turn on after battery change

I was having the same problem...I found the info below on another blog and it helped me fix my calculator problem. Take out all the batteries, hold the DEL button and put the batteries back in (keep holding the DEL button until all batteries are put back in). This will restart the calculator and restore it to its default settings...but it makes it work again!

"Reflashing the OS is probably the thing to do now. I think there's some trick that throws the calc into OS receiving mode. Hold down DEL while putting the batteries in? I don't remember if that's it. Go to 1-800-TI-CARES/[email protected] if you need specifics on getting the calc to take an OS upload given the state it's in."

That means that you know your calc crashed. This can be caused by taking out the batteries durring running time, happened just randomly. Well nothing to fear just press clear and it should go away but if it stays on that screen you have problems and is best to try some of these methods. Take out all the bateries and press and hold the on button for 30 seconds. Put the batteries back in and it should have reset. Warning you should archive everything incase this happens. To archive go to 2nd mem and hit enter to put a astrick next to the app (meaning archived)

My ti-83 plus has OS problem

That happened to me a few years ago - my friend tried to give me his operating system, and my calculator was all locked up like that for a while. There's some kind of reset code - pressing some buttons while putting a battery in - but it's been a while, so I don't remember which buttons.
