Cyberhome CH-DVD 300 DVD does not turn on.... power is evident as the indicator light is YELLOW, turns to RED when attempting to power-on at button.
Thank you
Marlin P Jones & Assoc. Inc.. has a 5V 2.2A /12V 1.5A cord power supply that will fit into the space where the original power supply was! Lists for $6.95 but online price was $2.95. Works great! Connect 12V supply to the yellow lead and the 5V to the red lead of the output connector, black is ground, common to both supplies. Use QC terminals to the power cord input terminals, remove the cable clamp and the power supply will nestle beautifully in the space without need for support. (Remove the old circuit board plastic (3) and rear brass standoffs and use the front brass standoff for the output cable shield ground connection. (Part No. is 15955-PS) I bought two because I have a 2nd Cyberhome CD-DVD 300 which hasn't crapped out yet.
Repaired my Cyberhome 300 DVD by replacing power supply board with small power supply used for external hard drive providing 1.5 amps at 5VDC and 1.5amps at 12VDC. The red wire from DVD is 5 VDC, yellow is 12 VDC. The two black wires are common negative for 5 and 12 volts. Thanks to MARVF55 for the tip!
It's a power supply problem pls change the power supply capacitors like 1000mfd/16v
I have the same problem, but I know what the cause is. Mine stopped working right after we had a power failure, so I suspected a power problem. The +5V DC supply from the power supply pcb is only at 3V. I removed the wires for the +5V and patched in a USB cable to provide +5V and it is now working fine. I noticed that one of the capacitors on the power supply pcb is buldging on the top, so it's probably bad. I'm going to try to replace it and see if it fixes the problem. The simple answer is that your power supply pcb is not working correctly.
The CH DVD300 is notorious for power supply problem. If this the case, you can send the power supply to be repaired for around $15.00 to:

I have the same problem with Cyberhome CH-DVD 300 DVD in that unit will not turn on with a green light. The light is yellow or red and because the unit will not 'turn on' as indicated by green light none of the buttons work . i cannot get the DVD that is inside of the unit to play (or opent the unit to release it) because of this .
same exact problem here. you can get your DVD back by opening the door with a screw driver via the 'EMERGENCY' slot on the bottom.
BUT, it still does not power up. the indicator light just changes color when pressing buttons. How do we get it to turn on?.....
Could you please explain this fix again SLOWLY and in layman's terms :-). I've found the power supply you mentioned but have no idea what to do with it (or whether I should order it) since the dvd player does NOT come with its own power supply! Please help. Thanks.
The power light remains yellow whether turned on or off (rather than being red for off and green for on.) No button will turn it on or get it to open the door. Anxious to see if these solutions will/might work!
These solutions seem harder than I am up for... thinking this player may have seen it's lifetime and simply get a new one. Think I only spent about $40 on it 4 years ago anyway!
