Well,it is practically not advisable to upgrade a graphic card for a laptop. You can always upgrade it on a PC, but with a laptop it is not the best thing to do.The graphic card has two categories, on-board and dedicated,if its an on board ,then you cant change it because it would require changing the motherboard. If its a dedicated graphic card, then you still can change or upgrade it,but it is not advisable ,because the other cards would not be compatible with your machine.
best thing to do is to get an RMA of your motherboard because even if you still want to use the a dedicated video card the side port video memory of your motherboard is still faulty..and for you to avoid other future problems with the motherboard
yes you chould see iti but i advice to check if is onboard the graphic card or is dedicated, from another point of view the motherboard is a litlle difficult piece to change in laptop most people just buy other.
if the graphic card is onboard then you cannot change because you will need to cut it out so is a no can do .
if the graphic card is dedicated maybe you can change it if you find a card for this type .
Dedicated video memory is memory contained on a graphics cards which is
separate from the RAM plugged into the motherboard. The memory on
dedicated graphics cards is set aside specifically for the use of
processing 3D graphics and effects. Increasing dedicated video memory
requires upgrading a video card with one that has more memory built in.
The Inspiron 1100 has an integrated graphics card, whereas the 51xx series are dedicated, so there is no graphic card upgrade option for the 11xx series.
Unfortunately, Dedicated video memory cannot be changed. Only the Allocated system memory. The dedicated video memory is onboard memory, like a video card in a desktop machine has it's own RAM. Your out of luck, unfortunately.
