Samsung Digimax 530 - Zoom Error

I purchased a Samsung 530 Digimax about two years ago and it has hardly every been used. I charged the batteries and when trying to use the camera I get a "Zoom Error". The warranty of course is past. The camera will open to the Settings mode but when trying to open it on any of the picture taking modes the error shows up. I saw the post of another camera with the same problem and saw the suggestion that it may be a unconnected wire or motor problem. If there are no suggetions on this I may just get my screw driver out. Any help would be appreciated. I get a "zoom error" message then my camera shuts down.

I had to send the camera to NJ for repairs. It cost $58 for parts, labor, and shipping.

is it new? if its not , maybe there's a problem on your battery, check the status of your battery if its full charge or not or is it charging when you plug the charging adapter

Hello there,........i have a samsung digimax s500cyber530 that i bought appox: 4 years ago?,.....and we just several days ago replaced an 8 year old gateway "windows" computer w/a brand new HP...

Once you get the camera working again by the "shuffling technique", don't connect it to the computer again. Instead, purchase an inexpensive card reader and use it to download pictures from now on.

When I first bought the camera five years ago. it would take 8 to 10 pictures before batteries needed changed. This kept decreasing over time to 8 pictures maximum, then six pictures, then four pictures....

Are you using a memory card or just the internal memory of the camera?

Camera shows low Battery and goes off even if u insert a new one

are you using NiMh rechargeable batteries?
If yes, check that they are fully charged. If that doesn't do the trick, sounds like it might be a power circuit issue. Samsung is in Secaucus, NJ

Digimax i5 problem charging battery

Hello,
■ Charging LED

Charging LED
Red LED is on = Being charged
Red LED is blinking = Charging error
Green LED is on = Charging is complete

● If the charge indicator blinks as red, it indicates a battery charging error.
- The battery is not properly inserted
- The terminals of battery are dirty or damaged
If the battery is inserted properly and the charge indicator continues to blink, contact the
nearest Samsung Camera Service Center.

If the charging LED doesn't turn to green could mean a signal that the battery is bad or can't charge 100% anymore = too old, needs a new battery. Hope this helps.
