The TE72 did not have a sevice light. The TE76 did. If that is your model then the brushes need to be changed

Are you mechanically inclined??? This is a little involved to do. First UNPLUG tool and remove the back section/trigger, there are about 6 screws holding the assembly to the back of the tool. REMOVE as an assembly. SQUEEZE trigger and PLUG into electrical outlet, while holding trigger unplug and reassemble, try this if light still on plug assembly in squeeze trigger and while holding the trigger unplug and retry. One if these should take care of resetting the light. If not the only other way is to send it to HILTI and have them reset it. Let me know if you still need more assistance and results.

Active Torque Control (only TE 76-ATC / TE 76P-ATC)
The TE76-ATC / TE 76P-ATC is equipped with the Active
Torque Control system in addition to the mechanical
torque limiting clutch. This system offers additional protection
while drilling by rapid shutdown upon uncontrolled
rotation in the axis of the drill bit, e. g. when the
drill bit jams due to hitting rebar or when the insert tool
is tilted unintentionally.
When the ATC system has become activated, the tool
can be restarted by releasing the control switch and reengaging
it after the the motor has stopped rotating
("click"-sound signals readiness for use).
Always choose a working position in which the electric
tool is free to rotate in a counter-clockwise direction
(as seen by the operator). If this is not possible, the ATC
system cannot react.

Hi. It all depends on the age of it as there are 2 different types of electronics fitted to the TE76.
If you have an early model, the service light came on when the brushes were worn or it was in need of a service. Check your brushes 1st. then to reset the light, simply pull the trigger and hold it untill it resets.
If you have the newer type then you will need to reset the service light by attaching a data reader to the service light. this data reader plugs in to a PC, you will also need the HILTI ODA Software to go with it. Basicaly you need to send it back to hilti to have is serviced and reset. if your machine is less than 2 years old, this is FREE. just phone hilti and ask them to collect it. they will pick it up, service it and get it back to you in 3 working days. if you not sure how old your machine is simply phone Hilti and ask them, quoting the serial number. this is etched into the plastic on the left side of the machine underneath the white writing on the motor housing. Yes there is but it is somewhat confusing to navigate. It is Hilti.com. If you can give me some idea what parts you are looking for I have that breakdown at work and will help you. It is the TE76.
