Unit is five years old and until now no problems. Following suggested power up process (1) dispplay Main Power on yields red to blinking red expected. (2) AVC Main Power on and Display red goes off. Attempts to immediately repeat sequence yields no red light on Display when pressing Main Power button. Can only repeat process after diconnecting power cord for Display and AVC unit for an hour or more. Was able to gain normal expected Display functionality once, over two day period in the course of following these steps, maintained normal TV operation. Following normal shut off, back with same problem. AQUOS LC 37HV4U 5 YEARS OLD GREAT TV BUT 2 DAYS AGO RED LIGHT ON DISPLAY WHEN TRY TO TURN IT ON KEEPS BLINKING AND DOESNT GO GREEN AS USUAL ALREADY DISCONECTED FOR AN HOUR KEEPS DOING THE SAME THING AND SCREEN BLACK???
Actually, I have heard about this kind of a problem before too.
Let me enquire more about it and I will let you know.
How many blinks does the red light give in a row? This would be an error code?
The problem for 7 blinks would be an Interface board. Apparently there is a glitch in the interface board that sends signals to the television.
Basically the glitch shorts out the board and the t.v wont turn on and
you will see the power light blink 7 times pause then 7 more. You can
replace the board with a new one and update the software on the new interface board.
If is isn't 7, let me know and I will help you out with this
thanks
