Fridge freezer not working and fridge interior light comes on but is very dim

There is an Evaporater fan located in the back section of your freezer and depending on year of the fridge supllies the air flow to the freezer and fridge section and may use a circuit board or may not. On Fridges newer than 2002 they use cuircit boards prior years do not. The power to the evap fane is shared with the light in your freezer and a locked up fan can cause no cooling and draw too much amperage and cuase the light to be dim. My suggestion before trying to diag is go to www.aplliancepartspros.com and look up your fridge by model number and locate the diagrams for the freezer section and you will have a better idea what you dealing with.

The fan has a limit control wired in series that shuts the fan down until the coil temperature reaches 25*F. this prevents the fan from blowing warm around after defrost.
There is also a switch which is placed for the door to close. Either one may be defective.
Worst case is the freezer is not pulling down temperature wise.

Evap fans will not run what are the two sinsors ?

First, the freezer coils have a temperature sensor strapped to it with a copper band.
The fans won't come on until the coil is under 10 degrees. Second, the fans won't come on if the doors are open. The same switch that shuts off the insdie light also turns off the fans. Try those two items. If the coils never get cold enough the fans simplhy won't come on at all. You may have low refrigerant or the other coils out by the compresor may be clogged with dust or grease.

Evap fan will not come on,jumped out the fan control fan comes on

Since this is a freezer, it should have a defrost terminator/ fan delay. This could have gone bad or you may have a refrigeration problem. Such as low on freon due to a leak. Need more info, I'll explain in detail. Let me know. Will Be more than happy to.

Unit not freezing , evaporator fan wont run

If this is a Bev-Air, don't think the door switch will control the fan. At the evap, there is a temp sensor called a fan delay. When unit goes into defrost mode, this warms up. Some also serve a dual purpose. It will terminate the defrost cycle at a certain temp., say 51 degrees or so, at the evap. Anyway, when unit comes out of defrost, it keeps the fan off so it allows the evap to cool quicker and to prevent circulating warm air. This could be your problem. Not a hard fix but they can be a pain sometimes. Outside chance that the unit is low on refrigerant (freon). This will not let the evap get cold enough to trip the sensor back into position to turn the fan on. Good Luck. Restaurant Parts and More carry alot of Bev-Air stuff. 1-888-814-1110. Ask for Rick
