I have a Maytag Gas Dryer Model: MLG2000AWW. About 2.5 years old, has been working fine and suddenly doesn't dry. It spins and goes through the motions, just not hot air. Checked lint filter and it's clean. What could be the problem and what troubleshooting can I do to fix it?
It needs the solenoid valves. LGR8857EZ2
I had a similar issue, except that mine would sometimes fire and so eventually the clothes would dry. Still, it would fail to fire often enough that it took a long time to dry. So, I went through the steps of replacing the two gas valve coils (no improvement), and checked resistance of various parts (found no problems). The only thing noted that I didn't check was whether the motor centrifugal switch was working correctly. One thing I noticed is that the flame seemed sort of weak; I should have paid closer attention to that in the first place. I ended up finding that the interior of the flame tube nozzle was somewhat clogged with soot. The primary culprit, though, was the "jet" (I think that's the correct name) where the gas is dispensed from the valve into the nozzle. It's a 1/2" brass piece. Unscrewed it, cleaned it out, and the dryer worked like new!
Hope that helps someone. In my weeks (months, actually!) of trying to figure out this problem I didn't see a single mention of gas blockage or soot.

Removing the top cover of the dryer, you will find, in the front right, the machine electronic control board with a burned resistor. This resistor burns up when the washer lock motor fails. The lock motor and control board will need replacing. Parts cost will be around $220.00.

new washer have what is called a washer drain protector, in other words it's a lint catcher for washers and your model has no such part. Do you use powder or liquid detergent? It seems to me that what you see is residue from too much detergent if you use powder. I've heard others with this complaint and to no avail can figure out the cause of this, at least from a view point of a simple wash.

Probably cause is in the delay of the timer or malfunctioning water valves. Check them prior doing any other diagnosis
