Need to no year make and model of trek bike bye serial number

Not that important except for selling the bike, but if you really need to know then Google "Trek serial number" or "Trek 8000". Not possible to ID with just serial number. For more info see my T How to determine the year value etc of your bicycle

Just Google "Trek serial number" That's what anyone here would have to do. Also, it's not very helpful to not at least include the model name when looking for info on a bike.

You are already on the Internet, so do some research, which is what anyone here would have to do. Contact Trek - Trek Bikes The world best bikes and cycling gear Trek Bikes , Google "Trek serial number" or Google your model and look for images that match your bike, or check BikePedia

There is no "code". Trek stopped a coding process about 4 years ago. If you give me the serial number, starts with "wtu" I can tell you what year it is. I will have to wait until the trek dealer site is back up from maintenance. I work at a bike shop that sells almost exclusively Treks.

Go to TREK.com. The best you'll be able to do is get within a few years of the build date. Trek changed the headbadge every couple of years. So depending on which badge is on your bike, it will tell you what year it was built.

trek doesn't provide exact manufacture data. go to their web site, under customer service. They give you pics of the headbadge, which will tell you the year your bike was made

your best bet is to take it to a Gary Fisher or Trek dealer (Trek owns Gary Fisher, Bontrager and Klien) They should be able to quickly tell you what year it is.

Serial numbers alone won't tell much about a bike. Need size, type of bike and any decals or markings on it

TREK bicycles have the serial number on the underside of the down tube near the crankset. Flip your bike so that the wheels are up and look at the tube near the pedals (on the tube that runs towards the handlebars).

Many TREK manuals are available here: http://www.bike-manual.com/brands/trek/om/welcome/index.htm. You can find a good picture of the parts of the bicycle and their names in the manual.

Some other brands of bicycles have their serial numbers on the seat tube near the crankset.
