Frigidaire Upright Freezer Digital Display Not Working

Frigidaire Model - GLFU2067FW4 upright freezer with digital display. Unit is 3 years old. No manual available. About a year ago, the alarm started beeping continuously. Freezer was operating at good temperature so wasn't sure why alarm was going off. Last week, we noticed water on the floor around freezer and it wasn't running. It was unplugged for about 4 hours, then once plugged back in it operated fine except now the display is not on. We cannot adjust the temperature and do not know what is going on inside the unit without the display working. Have checked around and can't find any info on this problem nor can we get a manual for this unit.

Doesn't seem to cover this particular issue in that manual. Freezer is working fine, but the tempt control/display is off so in essence we have no control over the temp. Startingwonder if it's a simple matter of the temp control being bad, but would rather get down to the actual cause short of just hanging parts on it til it works.

You might want to try taking the display control off and inspect it for any burnt or swollen looking parts looking at the solid state circuity.
If you don't see any problem put it back in and see if resetting it like that helps. I would replace the control if that doesn't help.

Hello Michael - Sounds like the temperature control was accidently turned OFF. When this occurs the temperature control turns off the compressor, but does not disconnect the power to the light bulb or other electronics. Let's try activating the freezer by pressing the UP arrow until display shows "4" or desired setting. Allow 24 hours for temperature to stabilize. For future reference you can lock the control to keep from accidently changing the temperature setting. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if the unit's status has changed successfully. Thank you.

My new frigidaire freezer the digital display on outside of door flashes off what to do?

Hello - Typically "OF" indicates that the freezer is turn off. To activate freezer, press UP three times until display shows "1" then press UP to desired setting. If it will not allow you to change setting and freezer continues to be off, try resetting the freezer by unplugging it or flipping the breaker off. Wait approximately ten minutes and turn it on. If "OF" continues to display, the unit could possibly have a communication problem with the electronic control assembly. Contact a professional to move forward accurately.

Hello swanee3669 - Have you trying measuring the temperature inside the unit to confirmed that it matches the display? If so, I recommend contacting a professional to accurately diagnose the unit since it sounds like it could possibly have a bad sealed, thermostat or control board.

I have had the same problem with my frigidaire/electrolux upright freezer... I am researching to see if there is a pattern. Once or twice a year for the past few years, the freezer defrosted itself. I found the outside of the unit to be VERY hot to the touch around the time that this occurred.
We typically unplug it for a chunk of time when this happens and then replug it. It has always begun working again.
Sadly, we have lost many groceries and have had to clean many bloody meat messes as a result of this. ANYONE buying this freezer should save their receipt... That way, they can return it or have it repaired when it fails. I hate to think of sending all of these failing monstrosities to the landfill... =(

Frigidaire Upright freezer with Beeping Display

First make sure you have a good 9v battery installed. If it is ok then the problem will probably be in the display board or the wiring connectors between the boards. CE is communication error. If your model has the electronic tempature control instead of mechanical thermostat the problem could be in there. My bet is a bad connection at display board.
