I spilled salad on my computer. Curser works, but clicking gets nothing

Need to know if it's a laptop or desktop. Was the food spilled onto the keyboard or into the CPU? If the spill occurred to a desktop (detachable) keyboard, simply buy a new or used keyboard. Not expensive. A laptop is more costly to fix - requires removal of case. You can always use an external keyboard with a laptop -just plug into USB port.
You may be able to clean an external keyboard by repeatedly pressing the various keys where the spill occurred. If all else fails, get some electrical contact cleaner from Radio Shack or Auto Zone, unplug the keyboard, and spray cleaner sparingly around the keys where the spill occurred. I would not spray a laptop - too much electronics to fry. After spraying again press the keys repeatedly. Replug and look for improvement. By the way, USB keyboards are cheap on Ebay or Caigslist. I get them for $10 each,

Keyboard removal

If you are using laptop, you will find interlock kinda thing at the edge of the keypad/keyboard. Just remove it by unhooking, clean it and then hook it back.

Beer spill on wireless keyboard

Usually if you try you can recover it ..but it may have permanent damages and some of the keys not work proper..You need to open it up ..and clean the plastic sheets inside ..with water ..and after that to dry them well with cold air ..The issue is that the beer is sticky when dries out and keep those plastic sheets either in permanent contact or not at all ..but the keyboard may be still functional ..
I had recovered keyboards from this kinda faults before ..pay attention on the electric part not to damage it ..and be patient as in brain surgery ..

Spill water on my macbook air, and does not turn on

gone with the wind....or shall i say....water....
dump it in the trash bin....
all liquids are enemy of any IC equipments.....
(many have this dirty habbit of drinking Tea/Coffee/Beer etc while working with their notebooks/laptops.....)
on PC..... the liquids normaly spill on to the keyboard/mouse which is seperate from the CPU...
can replace the keyboard of a PC with just few $$$
but with notebooks the main circuit/motherboard is just below the keyboard.....
once a liquid falls...it just goes thru the holes on the keyboard....and short circuits the ICs...chips...etc

Keypad seizing..when ever i want to type, some of the keypad hang and i need to hit the letters several times.

It seems that keyboard has started to malfunction.. it happens after some time.. If possible replace the keyboard.. Get a new one from the marke.

In the mean time you can try cleaning the keyboard once, so that if dust on any other dirt is affecting the performance, you can overcome that..

Use a blower to clean that..

I have a hp 5070-4221 wireless keyboard I spilled beer on and now it does not work. Can it be repared

Once upon a time coffee was spilled on a wired keyboard and this mechanic I knew took the keyboard out of its case, poured water on it , and let it dry for a day or two.

Then he reinstalled it and it worked!

I am not saying that this solution will work for you, but the Beer may be causing the keyboard buttons not to work.

Good luck on this repair.

Viewsonic Tablet PC keyboard issue.

Try reseating the cable that connects the keyboard first.

If that doesnt help there may be liquid around the connector and it needs to be cleaned off to keep the circuit from shorting out. You will need to find someone with the appropriate chemicals and may have to take the laptop further apart to clean it all up.

This is why when anyone gets a liquid spill i recommend getting it torn down right away and cleaned up, as it can damage things you cant even see. If the liquid has been in there too long it may not be repairable.

Good luck!
