The Softener is not going through.

On my Bosch washing machine there are three compartments, detergent, softener, and bleach. The Softener compartment when I fill it up and run the machine it doesn't run through all the time. Sometimes I come back and its filled higher with softener and water...what could be going on??

Hey Ben Fixit,

Depending on what unit of Nexxt 500, not all of them have a slide out soap box. The unit I have of the Nexxt 500 series only has an access lid that lifts up.

To address the blockage on this style of machine, a user can start with a kettle of boiling water and slowly pour the water into the fabric softener well.

Remember fabric softener is made with plant fats and during the colder months can coagulate and clog the lines. This is due to the colder temperature of the water, especially if the user does not use hot water to wash all of their clothes.

You need to take the soapbox out and clean thoroughly. Pull the soapbox out to the point where you get resistance and the you will see a tab you press to release it fully. Do not force the soapbox out. Take it to the sink and clean with hot water. Softener can be like jello when it drys and will block the release.

Fabric Softener Does Not Drain

compartment 1: Detergent for pre-wash
(powder)

Before pouring in the detergent, make sure that extra compartment 4 has been removed.

compartment 2: Detergent for the wash cycle
(powder or liquid)

Liquid detergent should only be poured in immediately prior to the wash cycle start.

compartment 3: Additives (fabric softeners, etc.)
The fabric softener should not overflow from the grid.

extra compartment 4: Bleach
! Do not use Hand Wash Detergent because it may form too much foam.

Cleaning the detergent dispenser
Remove the dispenser by raising it and pulling it out (see figure).
Wash it under running water; this operation should be repeated
frequently.

I have a bosch axxis washing machine. The three compartments at the top are not marked. The middle compartment is the smallest. Where do I put my detergent, where do I put my fabric softener and where do I...

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
A quick and easy way to find out which tray is which is to pull the detergent drawer out just so that you can see into it. Start a pre-wash and see where the water runs in, then advance to the main wash and observe. Finally start a rinse cycle and where the water goes in is where the conditioner/softener goes.
In a few cases I have come across, the pre-wash tray shares with the conditioner/softener part but the pre-wash powder goes in the front and the softener in the back.
Now, methinks you could do with a manual- if not for now, for later!
You will need to type into your search engine/web browser '(make model number) washer manual' and you should be presented with a number of sources from which you can either download for free or have to pay a nominal amount.
You could also try the manufacturer's web site direct ;-0)

If this has assisted you please consider a 4 thumbs up for the rating.
Thanks and good luck!

After cycle, water is in the softener and bleach

Water floods the dispenser compartments at the start of the cycle to dilute/dissolve the softener, bleach, and detergent. The reason why water is in the compartment after the cycle is that, the detergent, the softener, and/or the bleach does not flow into the tub properly. It's either the dispenser assembly is clogged or excessive amount of detergent, softener or bleach is used. Clean the dispenser assembly and make sure to use no more than two tablespoons of powdered HE detergent or one-and-a-half ounces if liquid HE detergent.

  1. Unscrew the two screws on the back of the top plate then pull it back then upward.
  2. Pull out the dispenser drawer.
  3. Unscrew the two screws then push the dispenser assembly out.
  4. Unscrew the nut at the lower part of the dispenser.
  5. Remove the four connectors from the valves.
  6. Unscrew the two screws from the back of the cabinet.
  7. Reinstall the dispenser assembly in reverse order.

Which compartment does my detergent/fabric softener go in?

You can get all of Whirlpools user guides here:
http://www.whirlpool.co.uk/app.cnt/whr/en_GB/pageid/pgsrvifuhome001/ifu/home Generally the one one the left - is for pre-wash (if clothes really soiled), the middle one is for powder (if you use it) and the last one is for softener or bleach.
I just use liquitabs - which go directly into the drum, and fabric softender.

HE washing machine

As you look at your dispenser. The Left compartment is for Detergent. The Right Front compartment is for the Fabric Softener Liquid. The Right Rear compartment is for Chlorine Bleach.

Detergent dispenser

As far as I am aware, there IS NO dispenser for bleach, you have to put bleach in drum before adding clothes and starting cycle. The far right compartment is only for "pre-wash" cycles, and if no pre-wash is selected, water will run through ALL compartments at the rinse stage..... Oshie
