Pressing the red button advances the chime count by one. Continue to advanced the chime count until it matched the hour shown on the clock face.

The next time it chimes multiple times turn the hour hand clockwise until it is pointing at the number of times it gonged. Next take off the dial nut off (make sure to put it in a plastic bag because they can be hard to replace) and turn the minute hand until it chimes signaling 15 minutes after. Now put the minute hand back on pointing to 3 o'clock and replace your dial nut and you are all set.

Strausbourg manor quartz Westminster mantel clock. Why did it stop chiming?

Source: Wikipedia

The full hour chime is followed by one strike for the number of the hour by Big Ben (E3) (one strike for one o'clock, two strikes for two o'clock, and so on). ... The mechanism then plays two complete sets of five sequences for each complete hour.

Learn how to fix a mantel clock that chimes at the wrong hour. This simple fix will repair a clock that chimes at the wrong time. This can commonly occur when your mantel clock is laid down on its back and the timing is offset.

1 Thing You Have to Understand First On most clocks you can turn the minute hand counter-clockwise but SOME clocks are not safe to be turned in that direction. For this reason, it's best to only turn your minute hand clockwise just to be safe.

The Simple Mantel Clock Adjustment The easiest way to adjust a mantel clock chime is to move the hour hand to the hour that the chime is striking. Make sure that the hour hand shaft is not too tight or else it will not turn. Most mantel clock hands are friction held. DO NOT BEND YOUR HOUR HAND, loosen the shaft if it will not turn freely.
Once you have synchronized the hour hand with the hourly chime, adjust the minute hand to set the clock to the correct time by moving it forward (clockwise) around the clock face. Allow the chime to strike at every quarter hour strike.
Mantel clock Chime Adjustment When your mantel clock chimes the wrong number of times, your chime is not synchronized time of the clock. To adjust your mantel clock chime, proceed with the following step:

ADJUSTING THE HOURLY CHIME

  1. When your mantel clock chimes, count the number of times it chimes. This is what time your hourly striker is set to.
  2. Move the hour hand to the hour indicated by the hourly chime (count the number of gongs at the hour).
  3. Reset the time using the minute hand to the correct hour and the chime should adjust along with the clock hands as well.

ADJUSTING THE QUARTER CHIME

On most mantel clocks, you can simple remove the minute hand which is friction fit. You have to apply pressure on the tube and it will loosen. Once removed, re-install the minute hand at the correct time. From there you can rotate the minute hand to reset the time.

I have a Linden 7076 chime clock. On/off/auto, start/set, H 2 buttons, M 2 buttons, volume wheel, test button and a wheel to adjust hands. I have no manual. What do these do so I can operate it?

Step 1 Wind your clock once a week by inserting the winding key into each of the three keyholes on the front of the clock and winding until the key won't wind any more. Make sure to wind your Linden clock before attempting to set it.
Step 2 Access the clock hands on your Linden clock by opening the glass door on the front or back of your clock, depending on the model. Use the winding key, if necessary, to unlock the clock's front or back door.
Step 3 Set the time on your Linden clock by moving the clock hands to the appropriate time. The hands of your clock can be moved clockwise or counterclockwise.

Step 4 Locate the chime-selector lever that extends from the opening next to the "3" position on the clock dial.
Step 5 Move the chime-selector lever to "Whitt" for the Whittington chime, "St. Mich" for the St. Michael chime and "West" for the Westminster chime. Set the chime-selector lever to "Silent" if you don't want your Linden clock to chime at the top of every hour.

How do I stop the continuous hour chimes on a WESTMINSTER chime mantel clock ?

Is this a older type mantel clock or an electric. A older one has a small arm on the back of the wooden case just move it to it's opposite position and that should stop all chimes. A few times that small switch is on the inside but very rear. If it's electric it also should have a switch to turn off all chimes.

How do i synchronize chimes with clock on westminister whittington clock .

The Westminster/ Whittington clock means that it has 2 or 3 settings.
1. Silent
2. Westminster Based on the music My redeemer liveth by Handel
3. Whittington
Set the clock onto the westminster setting, this is the easiest. At quarter past the hour it should sound 4 notes. The half past should be 8 notes. Quarter to the hour should be 12 notes and the hour should be 16 notes then the striking of the hour. For example on 8 'O clock you should hear 16 notes then the clock should chime 8 times. Sometimes if the hour is out just gently stop the pendulum, check what hour the clock is striking then without taking the hands off move only the hour hand to the hour. Do not do this with the minute hand.
I hope this helps you! If you are not sure please email me [email protected] I fix these clocks.

I NEED THE INSTRUCTIONS FOR SETTING THE CHIMES/TIME ON MY WESTMINSTER LINDEN MANTEL CHIME CLOCK

Manually turn the minute hand forward until the 16 westminster chimes sound and then the hour strikes. Then remove the minute hand (it will go on in four positions) and put it back on at the 12 o'clock position. The chimes should now be back into sync.

Whitting and Westminster Jean luis Electronic clock

I found my own solution through trial and error. I set the dials to 12 00 and then move the dials to show just over 5 minuites to 12 ( 1155) the alarm melody start and chimes for a number ( in may case it was one.) then i moved the dial back to 1200 and then reset it again to 1155 or just over. Each time the alarm chimes an increasing number
I had the clock chime settings on the back of the clock to the middle setting (chimes on 24 hours)
I carried out this until the chime was right for the time i was working ( in my case it was 1730) so when it reached 5 chines I then set proper time and left it. The next chime was correct
