When I turn on my TI-83 calculator the whole screen turns on and off repeatedly in a blinking manner. The only way for me to see the blinking cursor on my calculator is by turning the brightness/darkness setting to the maximum. However it still blinks. When I am graphing however the screen does not blink until after the graph is made. I tried to replace the batteries but that did not fix the problem. How can I fix this?

Parabolas are forms of the base equation X^2. So press the [Y=] key, and then type in the variation of x squared that you want

Hello,
I have just done what you said you had done, but I got a nice, correct table of values. You might have discoverd a secret command to clear memory.
Cheers.

Hello,
The liquid crystal is damaged. I suppose the screen can be replaced. Check with Texas Instruments resellers (usually academic bookstores): they may be able to tell you where you can have the calculator serviced.
You can post an ad on the college bulletin board

OK for batteries to be dead
But calculator must be alive.
Hope it helps.
