My Kodak DX 6490 will not read my 2 Gb or less SD Cards. It keeps recording to the camera memory. I will not play videos onto my digital TV. What should I do?

Hello, Have you tried formatting the memory card with the camera?
If a card is formatted with another camera or if it is new you should format it with the DX6490.Hope this helps.

Memory card requires formatting

Have you tried a different card, that may help. Plus, there are cameras that will not "like" certain cards. If the card is...let's say...an 8 gig...some cameras can't read that or even write to it. Try a different card and a 1 or 2 gig card too. Good Luck.

Camera will not read memory card

Your camera is only supporting SD/MMC Cards (up to 2 GB)

The card that you currently have might be faulty. Please try another card.
You might also need to switch the camera over to saving pictures directly onto the SD card.1: Menu, Cam settings, Chose AUTO or SD card option Press OK
Note: If the SD card isn't in the camera or is unreadable the camera will automatically go back to saving you taken pictures on the internal memory.

Was OK, but now memory card requires formatting? Kodak Easy Share C-530. I tried several times to put in new memory card, but it always says it needs reformatting and when i try "continue" it then goes to:...

She is not arguing with the camera. Sheesh. When she says she hits "continue" she is talking about continue for the camera to format the card. But instead of formating the card it says filesystem error e00100. The camera will NOT format the card. I have the same problem. I can format the card on the computer, but again the camera says it can not read the card and needs to format. You choose to format, and it says filesystem error e00100. My card is brand new. So I used cards I have owned for while and used in other cameras. Same thing happens. I tried 4 different cards. A 4gb SDHC, thought that format was not compatible so switched to a regular SD 2gb. Same thing happened. Also tried Standard SD 16mb & 128 mb. All do the same thing.

Kodak DX4330 memory card formatting problem

if you have a computer with a card reader, use it to format the card...it's much more powerful and faster than the camera's internal processor.

Memory card fails to format

Try to buy a card reader and format the card from your computer first. If the camera is brand new and still able for return, return it.

Kodak 7590 New SD card will not format

Is this an older camera? If so it will not support sdhc cards. Sdhc is a 4+ gig card. You will need to buy a card 2 gig or under.
