Have you made sure that the correct 'source' has been selected on your TV? What does the TV show? Does it show, for instance, the menu?
Connect it all up and turn on. Now repeatedly press the button on your tv remote that changes the signal input. This button will be marked as a square or circle with an arrow through it, or will me named source or input. With any luck you should see your digibox.

Westinghouse tv sk-32h240s after watching for 10 minutes srceen turns blue

That normally indicates that it has lost the signal from the tuner/cable box if you lose the audio as well. I'd try different inputs such as a Dvd player and see if the same thing happens. If it doesn't, then the problem could be a bad solder connection near or in the tuner or cable leading to the tuner.

Is this model digital

You don't say which model or make the TV is and we are not mind readers at FixYa.
However most TV's made that are digital have on the menu somewhere digital and analogue, because they have two tunners. If you look at the set-up menu and don't see digital set-up or something like it, then chances are it's not digital. If not then the only way you can watch this TV is with the box you mention.

Hello, There is an update for your TV at Sony Support and I would strongly  recommend to call Sony Support to update your TV as firmware updating firmware is risky job for novice and TV firmware can be damaged and TV will shut down.

Switching on the tele this morning, the normal blue background is now half red and half blue.....(top half red) so that while watching a program now people have green faces.......weird!!

Good Day, deejay268;
Try resetting the entire system by unplugging the tele and the boxe. Unplug from power source for 3 to 5 minutes, then re- connect. Good Luck, big IRISH.

I actually moved my tele to the other side of the room to see if it would work in a different spot and it took me ages to get some signal by moving my aerial around. The signal still wasn`t strong and i didn`t have alot of the channels and then i turned it on a few weeks after and it was working perfectly. Don`t ask me why! :s

Yes

If the Freeview box is not connected to the main aerial socket, you cannot get a signal.

Also, you will need a digital aerial, if you don't already have one.
