You should have access in the control panel and a button there to put the icon back onto the task-bar.

Dell inspiron 1545 and the touchpad

a dirty pad will malfunction. FORTUNATELY, the 1545 usually has a good warranty, so before you wait any longer, get Dell on the phone and get it fixed. You will get it back in 10 days, like new.

Dell inspiron 1545 mouse pad not working

You need to install the Dell touchpad drivers and application from the Dell support website to access the properties. You can download the drivers from the link after you select the correct Operating system version: http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/driverslist.aspx?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs&ServiceTag=&SystemID=INSPIRON1545&os=WLH&osl=en&catid=&impid=. Save the file on desktop and right click on it, to Run as Administrator. Install the drivers and reboot your system. Now you would be able to access the Touchpad properties from the Mouse properties in Control Panel.

Hi my inspiron 1545 touchpad stopped working. external mouse is ok, but touchpad is completely dead

Right click on bottom toolbar (on desktop).. click on touchpad settings when touchpad window appears. Then again on "touchpad settings" disable TouchCheck. Next go to Zoom Settings and disable Zoom.
Its only been 10 minutes since I performed these acts.. but, so far so good.. Good luck,

I want to deactivate my touch pad on my dell inspiron 1525 laptop. Please advise how

If you do not see a Touchpad icon in your systray(lower right), go to:

Start/Control Panel/System

On the left choose "Device Manager".

Select "Mice and other pointing devices" and highlight "Dell Touchpad"

Either right click and "Uninstall" or click the uninstall icon at the top.

Restart your machine and it will automatically update the driver from Dell which will put the Touchpad icon back in the system tray.

Click on this icon and go to "Device Select"

Check the "Disable Touchpad/Pointing stick when external USB mouse id present.
