There is or should be a booklet on the inside of the machine between the tub and on the front panel. Tells you what the err codes mean. First thing to check on these machines is the drive belt pulley located on the bottom of the machine. I went through a lot of headache and confusion trying to run diagnostic modes and watching how to videos to get my machine to start going through the cycles until the end. The lid lock keeps coming on and off so you think it's that and try fixing it to no avail. And on and on trying to find the err code in diagnostic. I finally gave up and when I was loading it on to the truck to take it to the scrap yard I notice the drive belt has come off and cut completely through the guard. Causes problems the err codes don't catch. The belt pulley comes loose causing this. Start there. Trust me on this one.

Do you get an error messsage that looks like LEr? If a Traeger can't reach 125 for ten consecutive minutes, it will automatically shut down. Try starting at a higher temperature than "Smoke" if it's cold outside.
Remove your grill, inner shield and outer dip plate from the Traeger. Start the Traeger in smoke mode. Observe to see if the blower fan is working. Is the auger turning? Are the pellets dry? Condensation can make the pellets swell and cause plug ups.
