Maytag front load washer will not unlock

My maytag front load washer keeps making the draining noise. We pulled it out away from the wall and checked the hoses. There was a lint clog at the end of the hose so we got that out. The door won't unlock even though there appears to not be any water left inside, only wet clothes.

Try unplugging the washer for 30 seconds then run a rinse and spin cycle. If it is still acting up you can remove the top panel and reach your arm down the front right side and find the door latch assembly. At the bottom up it is a pull tab. Pull that down and you will release the door latch. Image Whirlpool WP8182634 Door Lock Latch PartSelect

SOURCE: clothes still wet washing on Maytag neptune

Your pump, or the hose between the pump and drum, might be clogged.  Could be spare change from unemptied pockets.

SOURCE: Maytag washer won't spin out

Before you try to take the panel apart to remove the timer you need to check that the electrical connections to the pump are o.k. and whether the pump is getting power when it's time to drain. If you have to replace the timer you need to take the back panel off first.

SOURCE: Maytag Washer leaking from the bottom

It will be the normal trial and error. Remove the top lld and the back panel.statt the wash again and start looking for anything obvious. Start from the soap box, then carefully look down the sides and then if nothing seen, switch machine off and tilt machine untill you can see the underneath. Look for any areas where there is water .(when visible start looking a little higher untill you find the spot.) Most of the underneath areas are likely rust spots that have broken through.. On occation the pipes are perferrated and have a small leak. All observation.

Fo5 E03 error message on washer. Door will not open. I have unplugged the washer twice but did not help. Maytag front loader W0775517

If the add a garment light is off, then the washer door will unlock after the Pause/Cancel button is pressed twice. The door will not immediately unlock while the cycle is running due to a possible high-water level in the washer, high-water temperature, tumbling or spinning. It may take up to five minutes for the washer to stop spinning and draining before the door will unlock. You will hear the door click when it unlocks.

or

Unplug your washer from the wall outlet if none of the these steps unlocks the door. Use a T-20 Torx screwdriver to remove the three Torx-head screws along the bottom front of the washer.
  1. Pull down on the bottom panel and pull it away from the washer. Reach through the open panel and up to the door lock. Find the release ring below the locking mechanism. Pull down on the ring to unlock the door.
  2. Tip If you must manually unlock the washer door after each wash cycle your drain pump or pressure switch may have failed and would need replacing.

My maytag 3.5 CU. FT. Front load washer #MHWE251YG won't drain. It keeps giving the error code F9 E1.I checked the drain hose at the back for clogs, cleaned out the drain pump catch, and the pump runs

Hello. You might STILL have a clog! Front load washers are notorious for getting slips, half slips, bras, undergarments, childrens' undergarments, baby socks, coins, keys, WHATEVER, caught between the spin basket and tub. This happens due to the pressure of the clothes pushing these items against the door and they get caught in the small gap between the spin basket and the rubber bellow at the front, getting pulled inside as the basket tumbles or spins. Then, under suction from the drain pump, they can get caught in the hose BEFORE the drain trap stops them. What *I* do is this: Get a bath towel and lay it across the control panel so that it covers the back edge. Pull the washer forward approx 2.5 to 3 feet. Lean it back so that it just rests against the wall(hence the need for the towel to prevent the wall from getting marred up). Any water inside will go back AWAY from the pump. Then you can open the pump and with a flashlight, look inside to see if there is anything stuck. KEEP IN MIND, THE PUMP MIGHT BE DAMAGED AND NOT REALLY SPINNING BUT JUST RATTLING/VIBRATING. I have seen MANY bra underwires cause this. You will have to put your finger in the hole in the side of the tube where the trap fits and spin the impeller. It should have a springy, smooth movement with no "scraping" noise. If you want to dis-assemble the pump, TURN OFF POWER FIRST, take pix as you go and/or draw a diagram for the screw locations. If you are unsure about any of this, call for service. The part number for the complete drain pump is W10130913.

How do I unlock the door on the maytag maxima front load washer

Jay, if you're sure there is no water in the drum, unplug the machine and pull it away from the wall enough that you can unfasten the two screws in the upper corners of the back (they are likely T-20 screws). When these screws are removed, you can pull the top of the cabinet back and lift it off the machine.

Once the top is removed (and making sure the machine is unplugged), you can look down the right front and see the door lock mechanism. On that part, you should see a round plastic ring. Pulling that ring will manually release the door lock.

My maytag washer mah-24 have a "nd" msg. which mean "not draining" and now i cannot open the door to take the clothes out. pls. help.

Unlocking the door:
Turn on the washer, but don't start any wash cycles. After a few minutes, the door should unlock itself.

Troubleshooting the "nd" message:
"nd" means "no drain". Empty the (now unlocked) washer and fill the wash tub with just enough water to see a bit of water at the bottom of the tub. Run a drain cycle and check a) if it drains and b) if there are any unusual noises while it is draining. If either event occurs during the drain cycle, the drain pump may have to be repaired/replaced.

My washer does not drain the water, it is a front load washer. I have checked the pump already.

Noises - the original pump was a 40 watt pump, it often made a "howling" like noise. Replace the pump...the newer 80 watt pump has been more reliable.
Not draining - Front load washers are very bad for getting "junk" into the pumps...buttons, nails, zippers, bra wires....remove power and the front panel to access the drain pump assembly.
Remove power first! The pump is very easy to remove, ( unlocks from the base ) take the pump apart and check for foreign objects inside the pump assy. The power wires pull off and matters not which way they go back on. Also check the hoses to and from the drain pump for any  foreign objects. The pump is usually at the back right side ( looking at the washer from the front ).
