You must cast the functions in the so-called functional form y=ax+b. Isolate y for both functions, then open the Y= function editor and type in the second member (right member) of y=ax+b. You can enter both functions and have them graphed on the same screen. In that case one will be on the Y1= line, the other on the second line. Make sure that both = signs in the Y= editor are highlighted if you want both functions on the same graph.
You have to use Y Editor to define functions on the both sides of the equation and then graph it. Finally option is F5: Intersection. See captured images for equation 5x+10=-2x-7, y1=5x+10, y2=-2x-7 and x=-17/7
1. To graph a function, Press [Y=] to enter the function editor. 2. Type in a legitimate function. 3. Press ENTER to validate the function. 4. Press the GRAPH key to draw the graph. 5. Play with the window dimensions or use the ZOOM feature to see more of the graph (or less).
Try your settings by drawing the function y= x If you have problem with Invalid Dimension or other errors, turn the Statistical Plots OFF. To do so, press [SHIFT] [Y=] to open the Stat Plots. Type in the number to the left of the Option PlotsOff. Then press ENTER.
You need to fix your graph so that it shows the correct y-axis and x-axis. It works best if you press the zoom button and then scroll to find the ZoomFit option. Then the graph should show up.
The following should help you draw several graphs. When you enter a function you should press [ENTER] to validate. At the same time, the cursor moves to the next line. Verify that the = sign on the equation already entered is still highlighted. If for some reason the = sign of an equation is no longer highlighted, use arrow keys to move cursor on the = sign and press [ENTER].
If only one = sign remains highlighted and all others are not, then in all probability
the application Transfrm has been executed before and is still lingering in RAM. When in RAM, it
takes over the graphing capabilities of the native OS. This prevents you
from drawing more than one graph. You must unload it from memory.
Press the [APPS] key.
Scroll down to the line that shows Transfrm.
Highlight it and press [ENTER].
In following screen you are invited to Uninstall or continue.
Press the number to the left of Uninstall. Validate if need be.
Return to the Y= editor to type in functions to graph.
Hello, Reset the calculator configuration by pressing [2nd][MEM][7:Reset][1:All Ram][2:Reset][ENTER]. Press [CLEAR] to clear the message Ram Cleared. Restart entering your functions in the [Y=] editor. Hope it helps.
When you go to Y=, you should get a list that says:
Y1=
Y2=
Y3=
etc. You just enter the first equation into the Y1= space then hit ENTER and it will go to Y2=. Enter the second equation there. After you have entered all of your equations, push GRAPH and they should come up in order but they will all appear.
Also, make sure your window is set appropriately so that you are able to see all of the graphs.
Lastly, when you look at your Y= screen, are there funny looking arrows before the Y=? If so, do this:
×
