The rubber plug to cover the mini usb port on my edge 705 has been torn off. Is there a spare part and is it easy to fix?

Garmin stopped sending out this part around 2015-16. Luckily I had one and Gorilla glued the part that is supposed to stay into the unit in such a way as to greatly reduce its chance of happening again...however.
My wife has a 705 and it's happened to her also. I've searched the net and, so far, nothing is available but I believe that a smart 3D printer person can probably make one that will work.

Contact Garmin customer service. They will send you a replacement free of charge. Also if you loose or damage the plastic clip cover over the micro card slot you can get that from Garmin free of charge.
Ive gotten both no problems.
Helps if your unit is registered with Garmin this will save time but is not necessary.

How about buying a cover from here > http://www.topicovers.com/

They sell all kinds of rubber covers for gadget ports including mini usb ports. Can probably buy a few and keep them in case you lose them again in the future.

Ditto... That little rubber plug ("Weather Cap") fell of my edge 705 three months ago too. It was after approx 3000 miles and 10 months. A lot of water now gets into that sensitive port and this will eventually lead to bad things happening.

How to open my carmea to charge it

This would depend a lot on what camera you have.
Typically, the ports are found behind plastic doors or rubber seals on the edge or the back or bottom of the camera. Sometime, they are within the battery compartment.

Where is the USB port

It depends what device you are talking about.

If it is a desktop computer, there are usually several USB ports on the back panel where the motherboard's ports come out. Many computers put one or two USB ports on the front panel

If it is a notebook computer, the ports may be on either side of the machine or on the back.

USB 2.0 and 3.0 ports are rectangles about 13mm wide and 5 mm high, these are called USB A Female ports. The ones with blue plastic inserts are USB 3.0 speed. the ones with black inserts are USB 2.0

There is a new USB port called Type C. it is smaller, a slender rounded port about 7mm wide. With the correct cable, you can adapt from USB - C to USB - A type. You will see USB C ports on only the most recent machines

If you are talking about a device like a printer, smartphone or camera, then there is more variability.

USB ports on printers and large external devices tend to be a squarish, 10 mm x 10 mm USB B-Type port, there are 2 versions, USB 2 and USB 3 which has an extension on one edge, These can usually be found on the back panel or at the back of a side panel.

USB ports on most phones and cameras are Micro USB which is about 7mm x 2 mm with one of the long edges bevelled. These are common for charging ports as well as USB data.

A few newer smartphones are using USB Type C ports.

Most Apple iPhones don't use USB at all but use a "Lightning" port.

Older devices may have Mini USB. Some devices that need more power such as external hard drives, mayhave a Micro USB 3.0 which is wider than the MicroUSB and has more contacts.

Cameras often have the ports hidden behind doors or rubber gaskets. Cellphones most commonly have the USB port on the lower edge.

Diagrams of the different cable ends and much more data is here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USB

My sky caddie sg5 wont charge

If you follow these instructions which I think you know how to, it will recharge. If not the rechargeable battery needs to be replaced

To charge the battery, simply follow the steps below:
  1. Gently pull back the rubber cover to gain access to the mini-USB port located at the bottom of the SkyCaddie. Insert the mini-USB connector of the supplied wall charger into the mini-USB slot.
  2. Plug the wall charger into the AC wall outlet. While charging, the charging indicator in the upper left-hand side of the SkyCaddie will show red. The charging indicator will switch to green when fully charged. You may also notice the unit's screen turn on and off periodically.
The battery will charge, even with the SkyCaddie turned off. A full battery charge may take 4 hours. Once fully charged, expect 36 holes of continuous play.

Warning!Always connect the cable to the SkyCaddie first before connecting to AC power or PC USB.

Have 2002 dodge neon that gets water in the trunk where spare tire is housed, and large amount of water in both rear floor areas. What might be the problem and how much do you think it will cost to fix?

try opening the trunk and cleaning the water drain off out. there is a rubber strip that goes around the lip of the trunk that gets clogged with leaves and sticks and just trash.look at the rubber strip to see if clogged or torn. if it's torn you'll need to replace or repair it with some silicone sealent.around where that strip is, thats a drain for water to run off the car. try to clean and repair before you replace it but if you have to replace it, the rubber strip is not that expensive, maybe $30.00 for the rubber and it's easy to install.hope this helps!!
