Samsung LCD TV shut off, wont turn back on...?

Samsung LCD television was on, working fine, suddenly shut off and wont turn back on. Attempting to turn itself back on (click...click...click) but not working. Is there a way to "reset"?

That's what I was thinking...we took it back to Best buy and are now out of a TV for 2-3 weeks. :(

i have the same problem, my samsung tv LE40R73BD has decided to just sit clicking continuously for hours and wont turn on, it is out of guarantee by 6 months can anyone advise what is causing the problem. i assume the starting component is not firing up but i really am just guessing.

Same turn on problem here. My LN-S4095D began having turn on problems - had to wait minutes. Now, nothing. Problem is power supply but none listed in Samsungparts.com
The only place to get a power supply I've seen in used with near zero guarantee. What a joke!

I am having the same problem with my 40 Samsung LCD. I bought this LCD at Best Buy on June 20, 2008 and did not purchase the service plan because it is usually a rip off. I called the store that I bought it at and was told to call 888-bestbuy. The person I talked to was very nice and scheduled a technician to come out and fix it at no charge to me becuase it is under the 1 year manufacturers warranty. I called at 2:00 on a Friday and they were able to schedule someone to come out on the following Tuesday (not a bad response as long as you have another television to watch).

Note - I bought a Samsung 50' Plasma at the same time and I am having no problems with it.

Here is what is wrong with the TV: Samsung Series 550 LCD TV

    1. No picture

    2. Loud Noise when on like a blow dryer sound

    3. Red Power Light in the lower right hand corner blinks

    4. Same problem connect to Cable or stand alone

I have this very same frustrating problem. The tv gives a great picture when it eventually turns on. Has Samsung addressed this problem?

  • riverdiver May 02, 2009

Click on then off, click on then off. Three seconds between on and off. No picture at all.

  • maryrazz May 05, 2009

I have a 40" LCD 1080, and it recently started having problems turning on. It takes forever and the red light in the front "clicks" until I finally get a picture. It lasts about 2 hrs. and then it turns itself off and the screen goes black. I bought from Circuit City +/- 2 yrs ago, and they're out of business. I did not buy the ext. warranty. Is there any possibility that weak cable power supplying the TV is causing the problem?

On the control board, under the metal cover; there are about six capacitors. Take a look at them and inspect them thoroughly. You will see a bad capacitor if it is bulging, or squirting out dielectric fluid. It’s a simple fix. Mine was clicking on and off and wouldn’t turn on AT ALL! This was the fix. Hope it helps...-B-

It sounds like the main board has gone out. The only audio components are the main board, wiring and speakers. Since audio is missing from external speakers as well, that tells you that the main board is at fault. The cost of the board could be from $150.00 to almost $300.00 depending on the version # of your unit and dealer mark up. You can call 1-800-samsung for nearest service center.

Samsung LCD Flat Screen TV LN-S2651D - Volume Problem

I lived with it for about six weeks, then took the back off the TV. Just now it seems to be fixed, but I don't know if it will last.

I disconnected the wire leading to the channel up/down, volume up/down and source board, turned on the tv, turned it back off, reconnected the cable, and everything seems fine now.
