Hi, When you make a call and you can hear the party calling you and they can hear you, it means that,the mouthpiece of the phone which makes other party's hear you when you call is bad.
Also you can see if it is just dirt that is making it not to work.
The problem with your phone is that the earpiece on your phone is bad that is why you cannot hear the party calling you or hear anything while you call.
All you need to do is to replace the earpiece on your phone and you will see that you can hear whoever you are talking to on your phone.
Change the earpiece on your phone and you will see that the problem is solved.
This can be one of a couple of things. First of all, if this is a multi-handset phone, go off hook on two handsets at the same time and see if you can hear yourself in both phones (Speak into one while listening to the other) If it is only a single handset phone, do the same thing only with another phone. If you cannot hear anything coming from the uniden phone, it may have a bad mic in the handset and would need to be replaced. (the handset not the mic) If you bought it less then a year ago and still have the receipt, call uniden at 18002971023 and they will help you get it replaced.
I am getting noise on my cordless phone handset, the other party CAN hear it we have a hard time hearing what is being said. Other phones in the home work fine.
