Franklin (Everstar) HDBC36ID no longer cools.

Have the same problems as everyone else here. Company went bankrupt in September 2009 so we are all out of luck. Everybody I've asked says best bet is to junk and use the money you save from calling out a repairman towards the new refrigerator.

All fridge freezers lifespan of unit around 10 years.the closer you get to the end of life the more sense in replacing with new, more efficient one.

My Everstar Franklin Beverage Fridge doesn't cool. I had Freon put in and the Fridge cooled for about 2 weeks, then back to a warm Fridge. Any ideas? Is it worth the fix?

Question edited for clarity, 'frig' to 'fridge'.

When the service company put the refrigerant gas in, it sounds like they didn't check for leaks. You could bring them back under the repair warranty.

Worth the fix? If it is the small home type fridge, probably not worth spending money on it as they are inexpensive. If it is a larger class fronted commercial unit, it probably is worth it.

One side of the cooler refrigeration coated coils

Have you tried this http://www.franklinchef.com/service_call.html for a service. With the unit being this new, it's under warranty. Your sealed system is warrantied for 5 years. This is why you are having trouble finding someone to work on it plus Franklin Ind. does not want to pay the service company when they are sent the bill. Where are you located. If your close, i'll see what I can do about repairing it for you. Expect to have to pay for service from anyone due to the service company having so much trouble getting paid themselves. Although you should be reimbursed after Franklin pays.

Everstar HDBC36ID non-existant repair support

Look in your yellow pages for someone who does commercial refrigeration repair. Don't expect them to do the repair under warranty, tell them you're willing to pay for the repair.

EVERSTAR COOLER HDBC36ID

Mine is 11 months old - pooling water on right (which is theside i keep colder for beer/soda/water), also my glass door on right has water between panes, I just called franklin (everstar) and they say a service guy will call in 5 days... I hope.

Did you get help and are you 'happy' with the service done?

Everstar Beverage/Wine Cooler HDBC36ID not cooling

I returned our unit to Home Depot with relative ease... I think they were all aware there is a problem with these units.

They refunded the full purchase price (even though I was well past the 12-month warranty period). I put the money toward a GE Profile unit that's a little bigger - more expensive, yes; but it works, priceless!
