HI, It sounds like it is just stuck on the keyway as these can be very tight. You need to force the pump of evenly on either side and should come of if patient.

As far as the pump gose just use a 30 weight oil they call it pump oil but realy its a 30 weight oil if you want the # its AW-4085-0016 or equivlant . The engine oil is a 10 -30 in most tempatures they say use a 30 wight above 40 degrees but i use mobil one extend proformance 10 -30 all year long in all of my mechines and have never had any problems and there all honda engines . Just change the oil every year some of mind are 35 years oil and run perfictly
You have a nice setup, lots of power. The honda gx340 has a compression release built into the engine so it should be relatively easy to start. With the pressure pump under load however, it will be very hard to pull the rope. With water connected hold spray gun open so water is running out tip and pull rope to start (for easy start, remove tip from gun) . If it still feels very hard to pull rope while holding gun open, most likely problem with lubrication in pump or engine valves are not adjusted correctly preventing compression release. If you suspect problem, go to store where you purchased the unit or any store that sells gx340 and pull the rope to get a feel of what force is required to start engine and compare to yours. Good luck.
You should use what the pump manufacturer recommends. Typically a 30wt non-detergent (non foaming) oil. Do not over fill. If there is a sight glass half way is normal. Or if it has a dip stick follow the mark there.
