Greetings from Toronto! Also a Bell Fibe and Internet customer.
Try it, but USB Ports on such devices are there to update firmware or for an engineer to connect a laptop. having said that, all this says "yes you can".
On your Bell Satellite TV remote control, press menu.Scroll to and select Multimedia.Scroll to and select External Hard Drive.Scroll to and select Archive recordings.

it sounds like the remote needs to be re-programmed to work with the device. the 2 blinking dots illistrates that it is looking for a device to operate.
from "sceptical Glenn". I had the same problem & saw solutions so thought why not!!!.unplugged box, removed batteries, waited 10 mins.Held down "ON" button for a good minuet.Pressed all buttons from top left to right all the way down"like reading a book" even the ones under the slidey bit.Replaced batteries pressed buttons again in the same sequence, plugged the box back in pointed remote at box held "ON" button down for another minuet, then crossed my fingers.Pressed a button and it worked,"Wheay" success it worked it worked.Never again will anybody call me sceptical Glenn again. Thanks for the solution I am now a happy remote control using person once again, never having to leave my settee again only for a beer,or the loo or food, but that can also be rectified as I sit near the window...the pizza man can pass it through to me.
The correct way to program a remote is to hold the button down on the remote and then press and immediately release the learn button. If this doesn't work your logic board is bad.
Try pluging the usb cable to a diffrent USB port.
Is it showing any error message?
Have you installed the print cartridges correctly?
Which OS(xp or vista or mac) are you using?
Please rate the solution and ask for any further assistance.
Follow the solution for service port 'jump start' with a usb plug. Plug your cell phone charger in next to the TV. Touch the metal prongs of the service port with the metal part of the usb until you get a brief 'flash' on the TV. Then turn on the tv set. It takes patience and a flash light to do this, so you can see what your touching. This will not turn on the set. You still have to do this yourself after the flash.
