I have a 50 inch DLP samsung and it wont power on after making a lot of noise (I replaced the lamp) worked fine for a few days now the red light and the right side green light is blinking. any sugge

The answers above are correct. It's either the lamp or the color wheel. Testing the lamp is pretty straight forward. Use an Ohm meter to see if the it's filament has continuity. It's unlikely that a good color wheel would fail immediately after changing the lamp. Look to see if some wiring is out of place and rubbing the wheel causing the noise you described. A jammed but otherwise good color wheel would cause the TV to shut down and display an error code.

I was watching tv then heard a loud crashing or smashing sound, then the tv went black. Now there is no picture and the lamp light on the front of the tv keep blinking.

Sounds like your color wheel is busted...

This was not an expensive part nor too much of a complicated process on my hl-r5067w (see here: http://mistermarbles.blogspot.com/2008/04/replacing-color-wheel-for-samsung-hl.html), but you'll need to figure out part source and process differences on yours.

Good luck!

People are green

Your color wheel is not turning. This is part of the light engine assembly which is the section the bulb is insalled into. Usually the whole assembly is replaced.
