In Mirage, it is possible to block access to the memory menu. When you are in Mirage, push the ALPHA button and it will bring up a list of options for the OS. Select the option that says Tasker and Key Hooks. There is an option in there that allows you to block the memory menu from access. If there is a check in that box, that is your problem. Just remove the check from that box and you should be able to access the memory menu on your calculator.

Step 3: Still holding "Clear" key reinstall batteries
Step 4: Still holding "Clear" key press "On" key until home screen is displayed.

Second shot reseting:
remove all batteries including lithium ion (backup battery), wait 3 hours and reinstall batteries.

Third Shot reseting:
Step 1: Remove a battery
Step 2: Hold down "DEL" key reinstall battery
Step 3: Possible msg pops up saying "Waiting ... Please install software" IGNORE msg and take out battery again
Step 4: Reinstall battery do not hold down "DEL" key

reseting will cause the handheld to loose all of its stored memory.

Hope that helps!

If one of those solutions does not work you most likely need a new calculator.

Y= button coming up as invalid

well, it could just be that you have some random wrong equation that is, as the calculator is telling you, invalid, press the y= button in the top left of your calculator and scroll down through the equations and if anything is there just hit clear to delete it, one by one, happens to me a lot if i don't put the cover on my calculator. if there is nothing under your y= i would try resetting the ram, and if that doesn't work i would try a factory reset, to get to these options press the 2nd button then the + (should say "mem" in blue above the button) then scroll down to reset and press enter, all the reset options are there.

Mem cleared Changed out the batteries and received a messege mem cleared and nothing will work.

Follow this steps to resolve this problem:

1. Press ON to turn calcilator on

2. Press 2nd and then press + key button. TI- 81 displays RESET menu

3. Press 2 to select the RESET, the second item in the RESET menu. The display shows the message Mem cleared. Press CLEAR to clear the screen

If you cannot see anything on the screen, you may need to adjust the graphing TI- 81 calculator contrast:

-To darken the screen, press and release 2nd key, and then press and hold up-arrow key until the display is sufficiently dark

- To lighten the screen, press and release 2nd key, and then press and hold down-arrow key until the display is sufficiently light

When you Press the on button the a thick black line appears. when another button is pressed, all that happens is the black line flashes

if thats all you can see on the calculator when you turn it on you have to hit 2nd, mem (over the 0 I think), 7, 1, 2 which should reset all saved problems and other things that may clog it

I need to reset my TI-89 Titanium

There is several ways to reset the Ti-89 Titanium calculator. Other than the one shown to you by K24674, just hit [2nd] [MEM] [F1] instead of [diamond] [MEM] [F1], then:
Press [1:RAM] then select [1: All RAM] or [2: Defaults] and [ENTER] to reset the RAM.
Since you didn't give him four thumbs up because, he did what you stated. I'll tell you other ways to do a reset. The reason is because, you may have a locked up calculator that seems impossible to reset.

Push [2nd] [MEM] then [F1] [3] [ENTER] for yes to reset everything.

If your have downloaded 3rd party shells, games and programs and your calculator is locked up, you may need to take out all the batteries including the small circular one for about 4 hours or more.

If this doesn't work you will have to deal with it, possibly by deleting out what you can to free the calculator up to start operating properly, and re-installing the OS software.

Actually most people don't even need to reset their calculator memory. It is usually just a single variable that their using that is what hanging them up. Just execute the NewProb command to delete all single variables in the folder that your working in by pushing [2nd] [F1] [2] [ENTER]. This only deletes single variables a to z. This method is unlikely to miss you up with other programs, functions that are not archived or can be mistakenly deleted on your calculator. Works real good while working out of the main folder. Hope this helps you!

Graph button won't graph, then it exits and put's a 4 instead ?

Hello,
It seems that wires got crossed. I suggest you reset all RAM by the follwing steps
[2nd][MEM][7:Reset][1:All Ram][2:Reset][ENTER]
Ram cleared will be displayed on screen. [CLEAR] to go to the home screen.

If that does not solve your problem, reinstall the OS. Post a question on how to install OS, if you want, or read some of the posts on TI83/84/89 about same subject.

If nothing works, I am afraid you will have to repair the calculator.

Hope it helps.

TI Connect problem with Mirage OS

It is possuble that you have run out of archive space. To clear some up, press 2ND - MEM (the + key), 2 then 1. This will give you a list of all things on your calculator. Some of these may be neccessary for some math courses, but you can always put them back on later, so you can remove anything you want from here without any irreversable effects. Delete anything you don't need (excluding the games and Mirage, of course) by moving next to it with the up and down arrow keys and pressing the DEL key.

My calculator is working well but only one button isn't working ; Memory I press 2nd , then + (MEM). But it doesn't work. + button does work and 2nd key works with other button.

I KNOW exactly what is wrong i had the same problem. you put a program like mirage or another application o your program on your calculator. no kids don't want teachers to deleter their games so mirage has a memory blocker. go into mirage then hit alpha then go to like protection options and stuff and turn off memory block. GOOD LUCK
