I have a 95 polaris 500 EFI. It runs good on top end once you get it there, but boggs down if under 5100 rpm and have to play with throttle till you get it to run to top end. EFI box flashing a 1-1 code and likes to run at about 3000 rpm for idle after running awhile? any ideas ? thanks Derek H

It sounds like the tank is not breathing, ie. creating a vacuum/suction condition. My Honda quads will do this too if you dont turn the fuel cap to ON.

Wait, it just wont turn over, like the engine won't rotate?, that is either a broken crank, which not unusual for those 500's or you seized it, (welded the piston to the jugs). if this isn't what you mean, and it will turn over but not on its own power, then either your jets in the carbs are clogged, fuel may get to it, but not through it, or your rings are stuck closed and giving you low compression, check this by pulling it over slowly, you should feel each piston completing the revolution with a prominent glug glug. grab your primary clutch and rotate it back and forth, it should have a bit of play, but if it clanks and has alot of play, your crank is busted

THE THROTTLE SAFETY SWITCH IS NOT WORKING, YOU CAN EITHER CUT THE WIRES OR REPLACE THE SWITCH. I SUGEST REPLACING THE SWITCH
