GE Washing machine cold water barely dribbles in

My GE Washing machine (model S1070A3WW) works fine for hot water, but on the cold cycle (which is the only option for rinse) it takes FOREVER to fill up! The cold water barely trickles in. Today the dial shows that the whole wash & rinse cycle should be over but water is still trickling in. Is this b/c it takes way to long to fill?

We have well water, and I have had to clean the cold hose from the wall to washer a few times (cleaned screen & replaced screen).. Trying to figure out if there is a problem with the washer, somewhere else I need to check for a clog, or just call a plumber?

Thank you for ANY suggestions!

Well the first thing i would do is take the cold line loose from the washer get a large bucket and open the cold line with the hose off and see what kind of pressure there is if very little need a plumber or in crese your well pump pressure check your screen while you have the hose off if all of this is ok id replace the washer water valves

Yes remove the hose from where it connects to washer look inside water valve and remove plastic screen with needle nose pliers Without damaging it. Also make sure that it gets back in proper as the valve will be damaged without it.

Why would the hot water cycle of my washing machine not work?

The solenoid that opens to admit hot water is either defective or not being energized by control panel.

The load might be unbalanced, and will not spin at full speed as it could damage the machine. Try reloading the machine

The hot water barely comes out of my washing machine. The cold water is fine

It seems to be that the HOT line is clogged, You need to flush out more with high pressure or by removing the hot line and reverse flushing.
Also check for dirt accumulation at the hot line input and valve.

Hoover 700l Cold water is not fillingproperly. Only a verey small dribble comes into the machine. I have reversed the hot and cold hoses, making sure that the setting is on "hot". Problem...

Clogged screen in fill valve on cold side. Remove hose from cold side on valve. Pull screen out. Wash under hot water, and re-install.

Cold water dribbles in rinse cycle, hot and warm water fine

If you check the warm water flow you'll likely find it is HOT...and not warm. Check the faucet end of hose to see if screen is clogged. Should be screened washer with the dome portion of the screen facing out at you. Remove it and clean with brush to remove grit or scale from screen. If you find nothing there you need to replace the water fill valve located at the other end of the hoses. Good Luck

Cold water just dribbles into GE washing machine

Unhook the cold water hose from the back of the washer. Look inside the water valve for a clogged filter screen and clean it. It the screen is not clogged, replace the water valve.

I had this problem. I alternated the hot and cold water valves (changing over the wiring) and then hot tap then dribbled instead of the cold. Replacement part i believe is around $35AU
