I think i have a convergence problem. the screen seems like it has double vision and the auto convergence doesn't help any. when i try to manually converge it the red and blue lines come together but the green seems off center and wavy. i've called some repair places but the average estimates are 300-400 dollars. i need help

I have same problem but mine is the blue thats messed up.  When you use the link below my blue looks exactly bowed in like the blue lines in the picture doing the convergance.  Bought a relacment Convergence out PWB (ssb-5068a-m2) from a JVC service center and it didnt change a thing.  What else could cause the blue to be bowed at top and bottom like that?  When i try to manually converge it i can move all red and green both sideways and up and down, however the blue only lets me move it left and right i can not move it up and down at all.  And it's off pretty far in the center top and bottom but close to aligned at the edges.  Any ideas?

57HX81 projection tv,color is mostly red and picture is double.

This is a convergence output IC problem. convergence board would have to be removed - remove and replace 2 STK IC's and check the surrounding resistors. Shops usually charge between $200-$300

yes the convergence problem leaves a shadow of red or blue like an outline around the picture, sometimes part of the screen some times the entire screen.

Double vision on tv with purple and green colors

Hello,

This television set, as well as most rear-projections, is prone to convergence driver problems. There are two large chips (STK392-110's) in the TV that need to be replaced, as well as some resistors that are likely damaged as well. Any competent TV repair shops should be able to repair this TV for 200-300 dollars. It is important to note that if the back of the TV is taken off without the proper prep., the Digital input (DVI) will be disabled permanently.

Hope this helps you...

I art JVC 46 inche double vision

If you do not have hand soldering skills or know how to use a multimeter, I would suggest to replace the whole assembly.
If you know how to solder you can just replace 2 ICs that are mounted on the big black heatsinks and possibly 1 or more resistors.
Click here to find the entire assembly for your TV.
Good Luck.

Tv screen waves and is double

No. You have bad convergence output ic;s and probably at least 1 burnt resistor. This liely will have to be reconvergec in the servcie menu after the aprts are changed.
