Blue Line acroos bottom - 55' Wega rear projection TV

I am having the same problem I noticed today. Same problem, blue line about 2 inches from bottom of screen - 55' wega. It is a rear projection TV. Just went out of extended warranty 2 weeks ago. Figures...

The line seems to be a bit choppy. It's straight for about 4-5 inches, then drops a bit, then continues another 4-5 inches and continues more than halfway across the width of the set.

Horizontal blue line at bottom of my screen, on my 60 inch lcd wega, was about 2 inches from bottom of tv now it's like 3 inches from bottom, blue line is about 2" high all the way from left to right...

The "optical block" is bad. There are currently 3 settled class actions against sony for other models with the same problem, If memory serves me correct, your model is in an ongoing class action. If you google Sony LCD class action suit. you will find lots of info. www,sonystyle.com and support has a few articles as well. It is a 900.00 part, so, not really cost effective to repair. Post a comment for me tomorrow and I will paste what links I have on this issue to this post. There in my other PC at my office. Hope this helps

2005 sony 55'' sony wega. a very thin blue line is

Are you using a cable or sat box. If so then you are selecting channel using the tuner in the box and sending a constant signal to the TV eithir on one channel of the tv tuner or one of the other input of the tv. If this is the case I would suspect the box and not the tv because you say it is only on some channels.. If you are using the tuner in the tv with cable or antenna directly in I would say the main board that has the tuner on it needs replaced. Without a specific model number thats the best I can do. Hope this helps.

Blue spot on screen center. Peoples faces and show blue tint

if you have a Sony LCD projection ..Theres good chance optical block needs replacing .This spot will get bigger and will eventually cover most of screen the longer you use it .needs repair. If there is no warranty on this unit..I would estimate repair around 6- 8 hundred dollars ..

KDF-55XS955 Blue lines

This is an optical engine problem - it needs to be replaced - it will only get worse. Sony has had problems with the optical block and is extending the warranty for this problem. (this is a LCD projection tv - there is no convergence)
