Zoom malfunction When I turn the camera on - it automatically zooms all the way in. If I push the Zoom out button on the back of the camera - and then let go - it zooms all the way in again. The button on the top only holds the Zoom-in position. When I let go of the top button it zooms all the way in again. When I push the top Zoom button to zoom in, the izoom image on the display disappears. I reset the camera to factory specifications, but it didn't help. victor handycam

I have the same problem did you find a solution?

  • acesteele200 Sep 30, 2008

I too, have the same problem.

And, at the same time, the ff, rew, & play buttons on the top of the camera have ceased to respond.

Using the remote control, all of those buttons work.

I had exactly the same problem. You just need to smash once with your hand on the bottom of your camera (it looks that this works for all canon cameras).

Not for long. Most likely a bad contact with the flexible cable. While the sound may disappear in the loudspeaker of the camera

My camera still works (was not so much in use, but even so).

Zoom button is malfunctioning

tons of people w/ any canon elura series cameras including myself, with a canon elura 80 have the same zoom problem. It does not appear that canon has done anything to try to solve this mass problem with this series of cameras. Oddly enough the only way to solve this problem is to give it a tap and gentle hits near the zoom button to release what would seem to be a jam. Sorry that there's really no straight forward answer, but for now its the best i can give.

Dsc-N2 Buttons are mulfunctioning.

Its possible the button board under the rear case has been shifted or is malfunctioning. You can try to remove the back case and see if you can realign, or reset your camera's button board. If this doesn't work, there are several online companies that can help -
DarnToothySam.com has several repair estimate opportunities, and is pretty reasonable for the price.

FX8 all button frozen

I am not sure if this is a solution. but one time, i turned on my camera when the battery is really drained. usually (when it was broken) it will automatically zoom in. but that certain period when i turned it on, even before it can zoom in, the battery drained and the camera went off. i charged the battery and when i put it back and turned on the camera, it works fine. it is still working fine. good thing i didnt had the repair center fix it, because they charge really high price.

Zoom error

when the lens comes out, gently pull it as far as it will go, wiggle it a bit and it should right itself. just tried it with mine and it's sorted.
