Remove the food and remove the rear freezer panel . Using a hair dryer , start in the middle , below the coils , defrosting , until you
see the drain hole . Use hot water to help defrost the hole . Once water starts going thru the hole , use a small hose inserted into the hole , and blow thru , to remove any unseen debris in the drain line . Use an ALUMINUM solid wire , 14-16 guage , with the insulation completely off , and insert one end into the drain hole as far as possible without any force . Wrap the other end about 1 1/2 to 2 turns , around the black rod (defrost heater) , above the hole . When refrig goes into defrost , the heat will transfer from the heater , to the wire , keeping the hole from freezing up again .

The defrost drain has frozen with ice. You will have to remove all the ice and clear the drain. Be careful of the styrofoam ducts. make sure it is draining prperly and return it to normal operation.

Water is slowly dripping onto the floor from the bottom of the freezer door. it is as if the door is full of water. any suggestions?

ARe the temperatures good inside the freezer? If they are not near 0° F, that is the cause of the water drip.

If it is nice and cold in freezer, check freezer floor, is there a sheet of ice? you have a clogged defrost drain, clear it or have it cleared for you.

My Maytag side-by-side refrigerator/freezer Leak

There is a pan and drain hose under the freezer coil that is there to catch any water when the freezer goes into defrost. I feel strongly that is where you will find your leak.
I hope this helps.

Water leaking inside refrig. and then freezing in lower bins

your drain tube is blocked with a ice dam and there is ice under the freezer floor. Removing the rear panel and floor will give you access to removing the ice and clearing the drain.

Occasionally the ice cube maker overfills causing the water to fall to the frezzer floor and leaking onto the ground, any suggestions on how to fix this?

Are you sure its the icemaker overflowing? if it is, you will have icycles on all the shelves and the food leading down to the floor of freezer. If you have NO icycles between bucket and floor, you have a clogged defrost drain problem.

If you do have icycles between bucket and floor, you will also have a big block of ice in your ice bucket. without personal inspection, i would advise replacing both the ice maker and the water valve(s)

Looks like water dripping from frezzer, but there isn't an ice maker hooked up in the freezer. top refridge shelf covered with water and ice

you have a blocked drain.i use a steamer to clear the drain, they cost around 50 bucks, take off the back wall.melt out ice with hair dryer, crack out as much ice that you can with plyers or hammer, gently hit it and it will crack out if the floor is a sheet of ice and a putty knife comes in handy, when you melt out and remove ice stick the tip of steamer in drain and clean the drain out,hit it for 10 seconds then stop wait a minute and hit it again, you don't want to damage the drain line it's plastic so take your time, pour hot water down drain to make sure it's clear you might have to use hair dryer and heat up the inside of ceiling in the fridge section in the middle of back wall and ceiling where the drain is, the air ducts are there also, whenwater stops dripping you'll know you melted all the ice, good luck

Water collecting and freezing in bottom of freezer

Hi, Remove the rear inside panel of the freezer and locate the drain hole under the evaporator coil. Remove the ice and flush the drain hole with hot water to make sure it is free. You can try running a soft wire through the drain also.
I hope this helps you. Please let me know if I can assist you further.

Water accumulating in bottom of freezer and leaking onto floor

Yes the drain is clogged and the water that supouse to go through became ice so it make it worse.Put hot water in the drain hole until it runs through,it'll go to an evaporative pan on top of the compresor to keep it warm and vaporize the water.
