I can't really explain the reasoning for those options to suddenly stop showing, however, I can give you alternative methods to try and gain them back.

Ensure this option is checked to view your Properties panel:

  1. Window > Properties
Ensure this option is checked to view your Document panel:
  1. View > Toolbars > Document
Otherwise you can also switch from Code / Split / Design views using this method:
  1. View > Code
  2. View > Split Code
  3. View > Design
  4. View > Code and Design
I hope this helps some. I noticed you posted this a few months ago, so you may have already discovered an answer.

My microsoft acess is read only, how do i change it?

Setting the Allow Edits property is a fine way to lock the record. Note that "Changing a field value programmatically causes the current record to be editable, regardless of the AllowEdits property setting." from this reference. I would suggest reading all of that page anyway.

To find this property:

  • Open the form in design view
  • Open the Property Sheet
  • Make sure that "Form" is selected in the drop-down at the top of the Property Sheet
  • Select the Data tab
  • You will see Allow Edits toward the bottom of the list
If you don't have too many controls to worry about, or you only want to lock individual controls, you can set their Locked and/or Enabled properties for the same effect.

Sounds like there is a sheet of paper jammed in it. Try taking off the roller access panel in the back (not the access panel by the cartridges). Make sure to only use clean sheets with proper humidity level to avoid jams. Also fan the sheets before feeding to disperse any static.
