Why are the batteries dying so quickly in my Kodak 12MP?

It depends, if you are using regular Alkaline batteries, those are known to go dead really fast. Better if you try some rechargeable batteries with a rating of at least 2100mAh, anything smaller than that will drain just as quick as Alkalines.

Why doesn't my camera charge when plugged into the computer USB port?

The C182 is not designed nor intended to charge batteries. You can use either disposable or rechargeable batteries, but if you choose to use rechargeables then they must be charged outside the camera.

This camera takes AA batteries. You can use alkaline ones, but a pair of high capacity NiMH rechargeables will last longer.

My camera worked fine the first day I got it and then it died. I inserted new batteries but no luck. I exchanged it and now I have the same problem...why?

Here are the steps for the revival:

1. Make sure you will install a new or fully charged battery/batteries into your camera. Please use lithium batteries Ni-Mh or rechargeable Batteries (2000 M.Amp or higher).

2. Clean the battery contacts.
a. Remove the battery/batteries and the memory card from your camera, then wipe the battery contacts with a soft, clean cloth.
b. Reinstall the battery/batteries into your camera

3. Turn on your camera without the memory card.
