My partners Celestial split system a/c unit is leaking alot of water out from the vent from where the cold air comes out into the main room. The external water pipe is draining some water in a small trickle. What would be causing the frontal leak ? Cheers, Jeff

Inadequate angle for drainage

Testimonial: "Thanks for a prompt reply. Looking at the problem now, so summer won't be unbareable inside the house now. You just saved me a $90 call out fee."

The drain may be plugged. Ck where it comes out on the perimeter of the house or apartment and make sure nothing has grown over. Then, if the pipe inside is open on top, Use a funnel and pour some hot water with bleach down the pipe. It's good it is dripping, so the solution can pass through the buildup. Do it a couple of times to flush it. .

HOW COLD IS AIR COMING OUT OF THE DUCT SYSTEM FROM A 5 TON CONDENSER GSX13060

Depends on alot of conditions. Was the unit sized right for the house. Are the filters clean? Is the charge proper for the refrigerant? A rule of thumb I look for for is about a 20 degree split. Everyone has a temp they look for. Mine is 20. This gives you a good split and enough temperature drop across the coil to dehumidify so it's not "sticky" inside the house. Take the temperature in your house somewhere that is a good average. Then, take the temperature of the air leaving the air conditioning vent. If your house temp is 80 and you have air leaving your vent at 60, you have an OK split. If it's lover, that could be good to a point. If it's lower with little air coming out of the vent, you have a clogged filter, a clogged coil, or to slow of a fan speed. I also found once that the duct work was torn off the HVAC unit in the attic, so it looked like there was little airflow.

Our Sanyo split air system does not take out the humidity. What is wrong?

Is it blowing cold air.? Depending on your temp. settings will really control the humidity also . try setting it for 64 and see if that helps

What's the difference between dry and cool setting and when should dry be used

Dry is a dehumidifier option. There is a heating element in the unit to heat the cold air back up. The cold evaporator coil causes the moisture in the air to condense on the coil (this is why the AC leaks water) and the air coming out of the vents will be cold. If you are not wanting to lower the temperature in the room but want to take out the moisture then use DRY. All ACs take the moisture out of the air when they are on COOL. So, COOL drys the air and makes it cold. DRY drys the air but warms it back up before sending it out the vents.

Split system getting cold at first then just not cooling the room

Split Air Conditioners are not meant to run constantly. so check this first . you may have a faulty component i.e. compressor, condenser, evaporator, or evap fan. Depending on your technician you may have gotten ripped off. You need to find out if he checked the system for refrigerant (gas) leaks. A good way to tell if your ac is leaking is feel the low and high side copper pipe in between the inside and outside units.
the smaller pipe (high side) should be hot be carefull maybe touch it with an ice cube. The Large pipe should be cold but not iced over.
if there is ice on any component you should call a qualified tech. you probably have a leak. you should also clean your air filters which are right above the vents. I am a certified AC mechanic and i have seen this problem. in Iraq because of ambient temperatures being high the systems take alot of abuse and we dont fix them because repair costs exceed replacement costs alot of the time. good luck.

WATER LEAKING FROM MY SPLIT TYPE LG AIRCON

1. Do not set the aircon too low temperature in overcast weather, this will cause ice ups and water dripping. Optimal comfort zone temperature is 24c.
2. You need to open the grill cover on the front of the aircon which unclips either end left and right with a finger pressure. You will find two filters which can slide out and should be cleaned. First tap them together to remove dust, then you can wash them with mild soap and cold water.
3. There is the third possibility that an insect has made a nest in the drainpipe. You should look on the outside of the building and locate a plastic drainpipe. You can either blow into this pipe with your mouth or get a blower. This will unblock any restriction in the drainpipe.
Goodluck and ratemeplease.

Mothers AC unit

That has nothing to do with the water. Sounds to me like it needs cleanning, (the water is not drainning toward the back of the unit) ,,(dirty filter, which its trying to **** air anywhere it can even thru the drain hole, or not enough slope, leanning toward the back so gravity can flow the water to the back of the coil! Thank you-very-much!

Friedrich RS10J10-C: Only half the coils are chilled...

If the evaporator coil is only half coated with water, this means it is low on Freon. You need a repairman to fix the leak and add Freon, but this costs way over a hundred dollars.

Fujitsu wall mounted air conditioner.

during Cooling and Dry modes, if the unit is used under conditions of
lower temperature (18C)  the heat-exchanger may freeze, leading to water leakage and other damage.
If the unit is used for long periods under high-humidity conditions, condensation may form on the surface of the indoor
unit, and drip onto the floor or other objects underneath. (About 80% or more)

Increase Temp to 20 and also run coil dry cycle,
